How does it take 10 years to issue a recall on such a dangerous issue
As I stated a couple weeks ago the big 3 wait until the original purchaser in most cases has traded in and they have sold it pre-owned and made profit twice before they issue recalls on their drivetrain. This is why I laughed at all the Big 3 owners who will trade in their vehicle within 4-6 years who were crapping on Toyota issuing a recall within 1-2 years that effected their original buyer. Toyota will eat at their profit and take a PR hit to take care of their customer. The big 3 will bide their time and just make it where their owners trade-in earlier "just in case" to keep making profit twice before addressing issues.

You can thank the EPA for most of this.

There was a recall on this years ago. Apparently you have a set time frame to complete the recall. I didn't do it in that time frame and mine started shifting into 5th randomly. I wanted to do the repair myself because i had exactly one payment left on my truck, but this was during the height of covid and they couldn't even give me a time frame on getting the parts. Traded it in.

It took me reading a few responses before I stopped wondering why gay men in dresses were driving Ford trucks and how they had magical powers to downshift.

Wrong on all counts. The issue is only occurring on older vehicles, which means it is age- or usage-related. Further, OEMS do not see a profit from used car sales outside of a very small sliver of CPO sales, which are far from the majority of the market. You thinking Toyota is some paragon of integrity is pure fanboi. I've been around the industry for over 30 years, and they have their fair share of skeletons in the closet.

It’s basically illegal to make a mechanically simple vehicle now.

That is the problem for sure. Gooberment over-regulation and ridiculous CAFE standards have eliminated a cheap reliable option for a vehicle.
Manufacturers would be penalized so badly that it would be suicide for them to spend the money required to do it.
On the flip side, they are building shitbox EVs which they know will sit for months and months, if not over a year, and they know they will lose money on them (on the books).
However, the gooberment is stealing taxpayer $$$ to subsidize the building/sale of these pieces of shite that nobody wants, so they play the game.

That guy is the typical customer. Thinks he knows everything when he knows nothing.

There are so many false beliefs about the auto industry it's ridiculous.

Yep. All new car dealerships have service departments. And they aren't sitting around like the Maytag repairman.

What if the owner is not a Tranny?

How does Ford know genders these days when it is getting harder and harder to tell?

Do Tranny's sport truck nuts?

I don’t know, your local dealer will call you about recalls. At least mine did on a 1.5 year old vehicle. And if it’s something the mobile unit can do they can send them out to your house or office.

Or if you use the apps that can unlock and start the car and show you vehicle info, the recalls are on there too.

That's what Ford gets for going Woke and incorporating trannys into their trucks.
