Co-founded and inherited are two very different things. I’m ok including co-founded for self-made. Inherited or passed to is not.

I legitimately don't know about any of these people, But I worked for a very successful business where the "owner" had the business 100% in his wife's name so that it was a "female owned business" and therefore the business would qualify easier for contracts. I am sure that there is a lot of that going on out there.
