For us uncles and aunts on the OT....

How awesome is it to be able to play games with our nieces and nephews and hang out with them as much you want.....yet when it’s time to change their diaper or feed them or they are crying, etc....you can give them back to your brother/sister/in-laws....

I am that great uncle that is the old folk people now. 
All those years of playing with the kids and their kids, it's hard for them to find time to hook up with me. More so due to the BS going on.

My friend's nephew calls him Uncle Fun. They go out and do all kinds of fun stuff, get all hopped up on sugar, then he peaces out until the next time.

I'm the uncle that teaches the nephews and nieces bad stuff to aggravate their parents with. You know...how to make fart noises, giving them fake roaches to scare mom (no pics) with, teaching them to say their school teacher is a Bolshevik, etc.

I don't see my nieces and nephews very often. I have 5 of them though. The youngest is 6 and the oldest is 15.

Spinoff: My oldest nephew has a way of holding his chin in his hand when he's deep in thought. It's exactly like his great grandmother, who died several years before he was born. Spooky.

As a parent of two under 4, you are still doing more than you know just by occupying them for a short amount of time while I can sit on the couch and relax.

mine live right down the road from me. its pretty great til they start thinking of you as just a big kid yourself. then they get together with their friends and start acting like a pack of wild dogs that dont respect you, only you cant hit them.
I cant wait til the HS years when i get to break up their parties and steal the booze and weed, then blackmail them into doing yard work.
