Another one is Shandra May, a high school senior, who disappeared after leaving work at a fast food joint in the Jackson, MS metro area in the late 80's. Body found a month or so later but no arrest was ever made.

Recently started the Keepers on Netflix about Sister Catherine Cesnik's murder, not sure how I'd missed this one before.
We know who killed her. It was the POS Priest she was about to uncover for molesting girls for years. And the Catholic church covered it up for decades.

Possibly, but most of what really ties him to it is based on the "Jane Doe" Jean Wehner saying he took her to see the body. But all of her memories of these events were repressed memories that did resurface for 25 years.
Not saying he wasn't a sicko that did most of the things he is accused of, but there isnt much evidence to support him being involved in the murder besides her statement.

I read on this case for years. That podcast really blew it open. Very impressed. Practically solved it or at least narrowed it down greatly but the suspect is I believe in prison for something else and ain’t talking.

There were always rumors as well that ID's of several missing women were found in the possession of Brandon Scott Lavergne. I guess it was all just rumor since he was never charged in another case.
He was convicted twice (Mickey Schunick & Lisa Pate). They found the wallet and driver's license of Madeline Aumiller of Texas in Lavergne's home, but I'm not sure if anything ever came from that.

This one aggravates me. So much corruption in that area.

The drowning of 14 year old Jason Smith in Eros, La in 2011. He was found dead in a pond with his organs missing. The coroner said it was a drowning but the family says he was killed by KKK member who is the son of a FBI agent. The family also said he was raped before he was killed.
I’m from Jackson Parish and graduated from Jonesboro in 2011 and don’t remember hearing about this at all until a couple years ago.

and now that the guys is in for life for murder in Peru, why does he not admit and tell details of N Holloway?
I've wondered the same thing.

It seems like a lot of people think this Vansice guy was involved and that he was obsessed with her, not just her friend.
Thanks. I remember that guy and what he looks like from all the mystery episodes that covered this but why would he do that so early in the morning also waiting outside her place? Seems she would've let him in or something and it wouldn't have been so random looking. I'm guessing it was a stalker from her being on TV or just some transient sicko.
Genealogy is solving so many cold cases these days any cold case with body found has renewed promise. It's a shame hers was never found because it'll probably go unsolved forever unless they find her remains at some point. Sad.

Another haunting one is the Austin Yogurt shop cold case.

Neither the Sheriff’s office nor the state fire marshall looked at the scene objectively since her husband was “one of them.” By the time the coroner realized she had been shot, the husband had already had access to the scene and any evidence was likely removed.
In my opinion, the sheriff is a numb nuts shite bag with a huge ego and he will not admit to mistakes. So might as well gaslight the victim’s family and try to punish anyone who speaks out against him in regards to this crime.

There are two. The first is Anna Waters. Anna who was 5 at the time, vanished off the face of the earth without a trace in 1973. My partner and I were assigned to reinvestigate this case in 2005. The case is still open and unsolved. My partner and I have long since retired, but we still bring up the case whenever we get together.
The second is the murder of 12-year-old, Georgia Moses in 1997. Georgia was kidnapped off the street from Santa Rosa, California. Georgia's body was found four days later, 15 miles away, in Petaluma. This murder is still unsolved. Unfortunately, this case has always been overshadowed by the kidnapping and murder of Polly Klaas. Georgia's body was found less than a mile from the home in Petaluma, where Richard Allen Davis had kidnapped the Klaas girl. Davis' murder trial and sentencing had occurred less than a year prior. Both Petaluma and Sonoma County were still reeling from the three years of the kidnap-murder-trial and press presence that had engulfed this small community, and it appears Georgia's case didn't get the public exposure that it warranted.
