So to recap: white people are racist because black people commit more crimes because white people encourage them by being racist and afraid of black people.

I think you may have presented one of the dumbest arguments I've read while also being patronizing to all parties you describe.

Or the stat that blacks are 40 times more likely to be killed by another black than by police. Yet they act like the police are the real danger.

It's like having your home infested with termites and the structure is crumbling, but you're more worried about a couple of moths eating your curtains.

Great thread. I wish we could discuss racial issues more honestly and earnestly more often.

What can we do? Talk about it, don't throw any money at it.

Down vote me all you want, but my opinion is that the source of crime and poverty in the black community is disproportionate number are unmarried with children and provide an unstable, sub-par, exhausted upbringing. Same thing happens in poor white/Hispanics. We can't DO anything to make people grow up, accept and enjoy responsibility, and get married. No government can force people to create successful legacies.

Number 1 reason right there.

Over 70% of black children are born out of wedlock.

And that's a huge problem, not a solution. So how do we fix that? Deincentivize single parentage by cutting benefits? More powerful CPS? State or religiously run orphanages to raise these kids instead of their shitty parents?

I'm in favor of all of these, but it's annoying when people just say "bad parenting" and act like they figured out a solution.
