For those who are going to Epic Universe, you can only go once in a 2 week period

I read yesterday that you can only go to Epic Universe once and you have to buy a 3 day ticket pass to Universal Studios, Island of Adventures, and Epic Universe. I wonder how many people thought they were just going to Epic Universe for 2-3 days only? I think annual pass holders are the only ones who can buy individual tickets and it will probably be like that until the end of summer when school year starts.

Doesn't look like anything mind blowing. Nintendo is the only one that looks interesting.

it's massive, especially compared to the old park
Universal Epic Universe: Located on 750 acres and expected to be Universal's biggest theme park in the US.
Universal Studios Florida: Approximately 125 acres.
Islands of Adventure: Approximately 110 acres.

750 acres is the size of the entire development, shops, hotels. Look at it on satellite. The park itself is no bigger than Islands of Adventure.
The original Universal Studios park is 108 acres. Islands of Adventure is 110 acres. Epic Universe is 110 acres.

We are doing Disney/Universal in May for my stepdaughter's senior trip, and I don't think we have plans to hit the new park at all. I'll go back in a few years when it's settled down. I don't need to see shite or ride shite that badly.
Plus, my 5 year old son can now ride just about everything at Disney, so I am fricking GEEKED about being able to do most of the shite with him. Should be a good time.

damn. i still see that it is gonna open as their largest park but only by 10 acres.
they also have plenty of room to expand for lord of the rings or something like it.
Epic Universe Future Expansions: Universal Orlando has also updated its original plans to include more than 1,300 additional acres for future expansion beyond the initial park.

yeah man I don't think I'll be checking out Epic for at least a year or 2. although this rule makes it sound like it might not be TOO overcrowded.
it does seem like the perfect time to hit up the older parks though while everyone else wants to do the new one

You’re smart. Anyone who tries to go in the first year is pretty tarded. Other than the terrible crowds, stuff won’t really be up to speed and running well for a while. It’s like buying electronics upon release. Gotta give them time to work out the kinks.

I remember taking my daughter on her first ride at Disney when she was 5. Pirates of the Caribbean. I didn't tell her about the waterfall ahead of time, and her shriek of joy will stay with me forever.

Who has the money to go to these places?

He went a couple years ago, but he was 3 and not tall enough to ride a bunch. But this time he's tall enough for everything except Rock'n Rollercoaster and Tron I believe. He keeps talking about Space Mountain because he knows that is my favorite, but he goes back and forth on wanting to ride it with me and being scared.

I'm psyched for him to be able to ride cooler rides than he could last time though. Plus we didn't do Universal at all so I'm pumped for him to do shite like The Mummy and Hulk (I think it's back open).

Disney is only worth it if you pay $10K and get a guide and skip all the lines.
And I don’t mean fast pass. I mean skip to the very front.

I know people who have taken 3 year olds to Disney or Universal. Seems odd to take kids who wouldn’t remember it. But you do you. Different strokes, different folks.

Flights are super cheap from Pensacola to Orlando, I would love to go check all of that out, haven't been there since I was a kid, but frick those ticket prices. I'm good.

We did that with the guide in the golf cart and even then after 2-3 days we were all ready to go.
I flat out can’t imagine those lines in the summer heat. Hard no.

Same here. Except my daughter absolutely loved Splash Mountain. We rode that thing dozens of times in magic hours. I remember her laughs and loving all of it so much.
