Yes I agree. Sometimes I really don’t care for the job but I easily remind myself what else could I do making this much money?

$200k…I can only imagine. Hey, our PTO gave each of the teachers at my school a $50 Amazon Gift Card. So I got that going for me, which is nice

If you want to be paid 200K to be a teacher then you need a performance goal, measured on some level to prove you are worth that.

Damn son, where do I send my CV? I'm into it about 10 years after 12 in corporate development and while I make decent $$$ I will step down to SVP on your team with quickness and save you a couple hundred grand...

Who do you work for? I am in the same field and currently work for Cisco, but would be interested to move back to a smaller private company.

a smaller reseller. we just do network security in K12. Palo Alto, Crowdstrike, web filtering, extreme.

everything cisco sells that's not cisco.

we're not hiring as we're a true sales organization and i'm the only SE, but reseller world is a lot better than manufacturer to me. resellers are always hiring.

Our household is above that. I’m a senior level accountant and the wife is in health care administration. I could easily find a job close to that number, but I’d take a quality of life hit that I’m not interested in. Folks here get mad at anyone that works more than 40 hours a week.

who here makes $200k+ in an engineering role that isn't involved in O&G

do you consider Chemical plants O&G?

cause if so there are plenty.

but there are plenty that work at firms that serve the petrochem industry that make about that.

frick we are giving non engineers with 2 years expierence 50 an hour as project managers in the plants. Its a crazy market right now.

How so? I’m willing to bet 90% of the people walking around Louisiana in purple and gold swag have never set foot in a college classroom.

I get what you're saying, but I kinda doubt the posts in this thread that aren't clearly jokes are lies. There's not much to gain out of that.

TD is relatively niche, and generally speaking, people who spend their free time on message forums are decently educated. Taking into account that not a lot of young people find their way here anymore and our user base has a lot of middle aged males.. not surprising that a decent % are high income.
