Blame the state for the lack of economy in the Northern half. Everything has to be done in the I-10 corridor for whatever reason. The gap shouldn’t be as wide as it is.

Kingshakabooboo; tell us how you really feel. Sounds like someone pissed in your Cheerios. Chill… of course people will say their home location is better than yours. You can say the same without being so insulting. Take the higher road.

I know zero people who voluntarily chose to move to north LA to settle and raise a family from south LA.

I thought of three immediately.

I remember one guy came up from New Orleans for a temporary job. I made a comment about how he would head home as soon as the job ended, but he said he liked it here and might stay. I was skeptical, but he stayed, married, and had kids.

Just pointing out how stupid it is say anything above I-10’isnt really Louisiana.

It’s not stupid. Everything that Louisiana is known for exists in South LA. That is why people say that. Why does it bother you so much?

6 pages of comments and no one identifies the color of the dirt as a factor. North of I-10 it's red and low on organic content. South of I-10 it's black and mostly organic.

there was a couple comments regard red neck, but that is just the dirt.

Y’all always say this shite like it is some insult to those of us that live in North Louisiana. Got news for you, it isn’t. Other than the food and fishing for red fish in the gulf, what is so great about south Louisiana that makes it better than North Louisiana. We have great fishing lakes and hunting spots up here also. I can cook the shite out of the same types of food in my kitchen that any coon arse can cook in his.

You literally explained the rationale and you didn’t realize it. It’s not meant to be an insult. It’s meant to be an identity. And you flat out just said you aren’t bothered by not being identified as Louisianan. And felt strongly enough about it to write an essay about how little you care.

The fact is the culture that Louisiana is viewed as mostly exists in the extreme south of the state and it fades fast the further you go from I-10.

It doesn’t matter that you can take some andouille and tasso (probably from a road trip that you stocked up “down south”) and make a gumbo. Hell, I can do that here in Fort Worth. Is that Louisiana too?

Thing is that the general culture, the feel of the place, in North Louisiana is basically either Mississippi, Arkansas, or Texas (depending on where you are at exactly) as opposed to the culture that makes Louisiana unique.

Also, you boil peanuts. That shits weird.
