looks good, but a suggestion: after removing the boards i didnt want then clicked on trending tab at the top, i still saw the boards i removed in that list. make that to where only the boards you want to see show up in trending. other than that, its not bad. i like how you can set the order of the forums from the customize option.

Chicken, I am checking it out right now and I like it.
Thanks for working to make our experience here even better.
I like the trending button the most.

instead of simply saying "Active Topics" or "Trending Topics", it should read "All Boards - Trending", or "All Boards - Active". This would provide users with a greater sense of place with respect to what they're actually viewing on the site.

What secret board am I being invited to next?
Posted on 4/25/17 at 3:49 pm to Chicken
Just dropping by and say I like it.

Ok if you try to set customized forums by the "settings" button on the top right of the top menu it doesn't take. If you set them by the link in the drop down it takes

On mobile I miss the forum button where it was. That's about the only change I'd make on beta

Is it okay for me to stay in beta?

I like being able to customize "My Forums" but it's weird not having all the links on the left frame.
ETA: the purple block at the right (I mean the ad block) is throwing me off as well. It's the last thing you see as you read left to right and isn't a good feel.

The changes are so incremental I have to wonder why not just offer the customization to the current layout and leave as-is?
Feels much like the mobile version which I absolutely cannot stand. People that are talking about, "more room for posts," are somewhat puzzling to me. This is the desktop version of the new site. The screen on this little Dell I use for work is so big that I can see the desktop background on my laptop and the start bar/sys tray at the bottom.
Beyond that, for desktops a large-and ever increasing-amount of folks use multi-monitor setups with larger screens so giving more real-estate to do what amounts to window-dressing to is somewhat...I dunno...It just seems like we're reinventing the wheel here.
The adage of the only constant being change is true. But for many folks, the discovery of more areas of this site generates stickiness I'd imagine. If you allow customization or preclude folks from seeing that there are other boards here, or require a click with a pulldown in order to see them, that's creating a buffer-one that did not exist before-between people curious and exploring the site to potentially find content that will keep them here, keep them interacting and ultimately generating revenue for the site.
JMO, but this is a bad idea.
Also JMO, but I still want a button up top to switch to the desktop layout from mobile when my tablet or phone mistakenly shifts to the craptastic, methadone-mobile version of TD.com. Having to scroll to the bottom to do that makes no sense to me and I don't understand what it saved or helped by forcing users to go through more steps in order to enjoy the site as they want to.
It just doesn't seem to add up to me.
Then again, this is not my barbeque.

You can customize the top row list to what you want but also customize the my forums drop down list. Two different customizations..

Already used to it, no more miss clicking on boards I don't read.

quote:Right. One involves scrolling up to reach the custom list and the other involves an extra click to go down a dropdown menu. Less ideal than a permanent bar containing your custom links, IMO.
