The votes are a damn good idea!

It's never ask that for me to do before I guess the single sign-on capability wasn't working

Fishing forum I frequent has a bell icon in the top corner that highlights when a thread is replied to that you are "watching" It's convenient so you don't have to constantly search for it.

I mean they exist, so why not make them at least interesting?

quote:yes, this is what it would be...we are done notifying people via email. It would be an indicator on the site, like you see on most social network sites/apps
It definitely needs to be thought out as a poorly implemented notification system will get aggravating quick. I'm not thinking email notifications, I'm talking about notifications on the site itself

i downvote every post about votes..... just because it seems to bother people so much.

I live for downvotes. I downvote my own posts

What about an option to "watch thread", then you're sent a notification when someone replies. The only issue would be a really rapid fast moving thread that would stack up notifications. But, you could give the user ability to un select "watch thread" if they get annoyed.

I don't want notifications when someone posts in a thread. I only want a notification when they reply directly to one of my posts.
TD already has a solid system for notifying thread general traffic.

Hate it, don't understand why sites keep trying to fix what isn't broken. I've seen so many places ruined by constant tinkering. At minimum, the list and ads should remain on the left.

Not gonna wade through all of this, but if we're making suggests to make the beta better, can we get the background fill on the boards for threads with new posts highlighted in a different color? The threads are currently backed by white and grey alternating bars, but it would be nice to scan through the thread titles on the left side of the screen and know from the background color whether or not it has new posts instead of having to flip my eyes over to the right side of the screen to look for the "NEW" notification by the last reply info.

Ok if you try to set customized forums by the "settings" button on the top right of the top menu it doesn't take. If you set them by the link in the drop down it takes
