I didn’t see my high school graduation as anything to get excited about.

matching T-shirts with said graduates name and picture.
Is this for graduation or the funeral?

Went to my son's college graduation this week. The announcer made it a point to ask families to wait until all graduate names had been called to make a big cheer at once so as not to drown out the next graduate's name.
The family of the very first graduate called immediately proceeded to hoot and holler.

I’m guessing your son’s school didn’t call the names in order of finished class ranking.

Cheddars is where it be at.
Another thoughtful gift is a gift certificate for the movers they will hire to move out.

Dutchtown called the students in order of GPA ranking.
The loudness definitely increased as the GPA's decreased.
Damn, that's a GREAT idea.
But most places it would get shot down because of "feelings" because certain groups would congregate towards the end, and the shame of being noted as the last in line, the lowest GPA.
Thank God I graduated HS in 1982, when this hootin' and hollerin' was not a thing...

They stopped at 2.0 GPA then switched to alphabetical order

It doesn’t seem too long ago that I made fun of homeschooling. Now I can’t imagine someone NOT homeschooling their kids.

Yell as long as they dance on the stage

When his or her name is called, yell so loud and for so long that you drown out the name of the next graduate announced.
Honestly there’s only one way to make this stop. All the white people have to start doing it for their graduate. Act a big fool, bring air horns, make monkey noises or whatever they holler etc.
When white people start stealing their thing, it becomes uncool and they stop. Only way.
