I’m making it ok. Pretty sad since this is the first Xmas without mom’s bear. But staying sober which is good.

For me Jesus is the reason for the season - I get caught up in the spending and buying and get a high, but then get a low. When I get a low I pray to keep my mind on the real reason, not the commercial crap. It can be a really bad time for people.

Yesterday morning I saw that my hometown was getting snow (along with two surrounding counties). It lead me to remember all the great snows we had, but not every year. Just enough so that we appreciated them.
And lots of memories of people who are gone.

I'm lucky my fiance has been putting up with me lately. I'm burned out hard from work, and I just don't know how to move forward. I'm looking for a therapist to just get me over the hump and back to where I'm not feeling dread every time I open my laptop.

I’m at M D Anderson recovering from throat cancer surgery. Just my wife and myself. Missing my children and grandchildren. Replaced half my tongue and they don’t know if I’ll ever to swallow again.
I’ve been praying for everyone who is lonely and sad this Christmas. All I have is Jesus and that’s enough.

The most annoying part of the holidays are things closing. Disrupts the routine like the gym routine. Throws me off every year.

Sorry to hear man. I spent most of this Christmas alone as my wife is a night worker and this is her week to work. It’s been different.
I know alone is not the same as lonely but hang in there and I wish you well.
