How do I do it? I swallow my pride and think about the fact that I am able to provide for my family so I put up with it. Do I dread going in everyday? The majority of days yes I do. It sucks that Im now at a payrange where my options are slim as far as doing something else Id be happy doing and am qualified to do. My biggest problem is that I dont have my degree. Have years and years of experience and have been told Im more than qualified to do other things but not having my degree is the kicker.
As far as dealing with coworkers you cant stand? You just have to do your job and not worry about them (as long as they arent your supervisor). If your supervisors see that you do a great job then you shouldnt have anything to worry about.

I can't stand my job, but it pays the bills and they are helping to pay for my Masters.
I'm only 28 so I think I'll start my own business one day or move to a smaller company that isn't as miserably corporate.

Went back to school part time and moved up in my field.
Also began to finally work on personal projects on the side.
I've been known to quit a job if things get really bad, however. Life is too short to be miserable.

I was miserable at my old job. But horses make me happy and they are expensive so I learned to pretend to be happy. And drank a lot 
Now I have a new job and I don't pretend as much.

I dont really like my job. What i od isn't bad and it pays great.
But my boss is a bit of a moron, and he tries to play politics but ends up getting screwed and in turn we get screwed.
and my employer is somewhat close to scum IMHO. They treat their employees very poorly.

I have hated my job for the last year. It's similar to what I've done for about the last 15 years, but it's been dealing with smaller projects and contractors. I thought it would be laid back and lower stress, but it's been the opposite. I've been working physically harder than I have in years, for less money than I have for years. The only reason I didn't quit earlier, is I didn't know if I wanted to stay where I'm at, or move back to Nola or close to family.
I've always said, if the first thing that goes through your head every morning is expletives and anger, you need to find a new job. So I finally took my own advice.
I start a new job the beginning of the year, and its the type of project I love and makes for a good resume booster. I'll also be making more hourly then I currently make on overtime. The cost of living will also be 33-50% less than where I live. I'm stressed because of the move, but couldn't be more excited. It'll be a lot of work and I'll miss a lot of things important to me (Christmas this year with my dad and Mardi Gras this year), but when I'm done, I'll have the financial freedom to travel and then move wherever I want. I couldn't be happier about the situation.

I can't stand my job now, but I am at a position (like someone said before) where I make more money where I am than if I try to get a job somewhere else. Incompetence looms everywhere, and it is mentally draining.
I have been looking for another job for about a year, and am even willing to relocate with my family. But it will be damned near impossible for me to take a cut in pay.
So I guess I will just grin and bear it, until I can get my family into a better financial position. Then possibly find something that I love doing, even if it means taking a paycut.

I hate my job so much and don't get along with my supervisor. My home life hasn't been much better either, so that doesn't help. The only thing that keeps me going is I have two little boys to provide for. I'm not just sitting on my arse tho. I'm making moves to be able to quit in the next few years, or hopefully sooner.
Funny how life can change. Not long ago, I was happily married and had a job that I really liked where I made almost double the money I do now. But in the words of George Strait:

Well this thread gives me a little comfort that I made the right decision by leaving my former employer. I'm holding out for a job where I can learn, get hands on experience, and have growth potential. Is that too much to ask these days? I've got 2 degrees, I'm nice, I'm young, I work hard, and I've got absolutely nothing holding me back.

I just harness what I think men were thinking in the early 1900s. Working in factories, building infrastructure, mining, war, etc...They fricking did it and didn't have a fraction of the options and recreational activities we currently have.

Aside having the a type of work I've been doing lately, I really can't stand the people I'm working for. I've worked for women in the past without a problem. I'm very progressive in that regard. I wouldn't want to hire a women to do certain highly physical jobs. But there are plenty of jobs in my industry a woman can excel.
I've also known a lot of lesbians over the years. In Nola, I had lesbian friends that were my wingman, and helped me get laid. As long as it's between consenting adults, I don't give a damn what you do with your genitals.
But this is the first time I've dealt with the angry, mean lesbian. I would say man hating lesbian, but she may just be a complete bitch, though I believe it's the former. Having a project manager with a shitty attitude, makes my life hell. I can't wait to be done with this company.

Being able to relocate is an even bigger issue for me. My wife took another job when we relocated for my promotion. Well now she got a huge promotion so theres no way we could leave where we are. I actually love where we live so Im not looking to relocate at all. But it definitely narrows things down when looking at opportunities.

I know what you mean. And I know this new job will have it's own set of stressors. But I'm ok with that. Like someone else posted...I was exhibiting classic signs of burnout. Things were not gonna get better for me unless something changed in my life. I was having stressful stuff thrown at me at work and in my personal life. Couldn't stop the stress from my family....but I could stop/change the work stress. And it is not just myself...several nurses I've worked with (some almost 10 years) are leaving the same unit I work at for similar reasons.
