At least it’s a Friday. My last two weddings I was in the rehearsal was Thursday. It’s hard to leave work early on a Thursday. THEN drive 1.5 hours for a rehearsal party your supposed to get drunk at. Then drive home and work a whole day Friday.

Where do you people work that vacation leave is non-existant?

Or at the very least a sick day or an understanding boss.

I don't understand why people just don't have an area with a tv set up.

People that want to watch will be looking at their phones anyway.

That was my situation. I wasn't in the wedding.

Anyone who would have me in their wedding would have the sense to have a Spring or Summer wedding.

I mean i don’t have to be in the wedding to say no
I’ve had a fall wedding last year during our UGA game
Buddy went to UNC so not a football fan.
His wedding party was one guy, his brother who was his best man

Healthcare

The shite y’all put up with. Everyone I know that works in healthcare refuses to take time off for some fear of retribution or hesitancy in asking/telling their boss they’re going to be off.

It’s a weird phenomena. They have PRN staff for a reason.

I don't know that I've ever worked a job (professional or otherwise) that wasn't okay with a month notice for a half day Friday at work.

Football season weddings
It is a football game.

It is a sporting event played by 18-22 year olds.

Some of y’all need to grow up and get some better hobbies.

Your boy sounds like a whipped little bitch. There is no doubt his woman made this happen. It also is probably cheaper for your boy to host it his venue of choice at this time too. This is an all around bitch move. Don’t say shite and drink your arse off at your boy’s lunch.

There are very few jobs where shite truly hits the fan. People make things urgent that aren’t actually the case.

And I’m talking about asking off for a wedding 6 months from now.

I'm sure you can find someone else to cover your shift at Burger King.

Pretty sure he’s at Popeyes now and that’s right when they expect those chicken sandwiches to be back in stock.

I work in the o&g service industry at a rather small company. Things happen every second. If I have an obligation I am going to meet it. This being said I usually like to take my vacation days on things I like to do. Not around some wedding bullshite.

You don’t have other team members?

Standing in a wedding of someone close to you is “bullshite”?

Not as many as I’d like

It’s not bullshite your right. Weddings used to be a cut and dry thing though. shite is out of hand now. When did bachelor parties become a week long fricking cruise or destination vacation? Much less a destination wedding which I have also done. Terrible. You get wrapped up into 4 of these a year it gets old after awhile.

If someone else can’t handle one employee being out one day and this company has more than 3 employees. That’s a failure in management and training.

You need new friends if they’re all taking week long bachelor parties with destination weddings as well.
