When she tells you that she wants to make a meat, cheese and cracker tray and says she is going out for some sausage and returns without sausage.

My wife sits in my seats in Tiger stadium. I sit at home and watch in the air condition with a big hunk of meat on the grill. We text each other during the game. Works for us.

Man, on Saturdays I like to be by myself or with a select few people. I use to go to every home game, but I only go to one or two a year, just because I like to be able to watch what is going on with other games.

People are going to say "you suck, you sound like a douche, etc" but I don't care. Football is my thing.

While there are a lot of LSU fans, many of them don't really keep up with the rest of college football and those people are they worse to watch games with. They don't know the last thing about football, they complain that the refs "always pull against LSU". I can't deal with all that shite because I don't ever know how to reply. I am not going to agree with them because they say shite that isn't accurate and I am not going to be a dick and say "well actually you are wrong as frick".. So I just like to watch alone.

So OP finds himself a woman who loves football and is excited to watch with him and he decides the best course of action is to shite all over her.

Bold strategy.

I talk AT mine, pretty sure she isn't listening because she doesn't like football.

I don't mind watching a game with a girl if she's there to have fun. If she's asking questions about the rules or insinuates I'm being irrational because it's only a game (I know, but I am a man and I reserve my right to weave a tapestry of profanity at the officials) then that rubs me the wrong way. Took a girl to Bama/LSU last year and we had a blast, but she legitimately knows her football and we enjoyed the banter that comes with wearing crimson amongst of sea of purple and gold

She laughed nervously.

"No, I'm serious. I don't want your feelings to get hurt when I ignore you, but you're welcome to come over and watch the game."

I get where you're coming from as I don't like to talk to the 'casual fan' during games. I like to be around knowledgeable passionate fans. Being around people who see a play and say "Geaux Tigers. Who was that? Did we score?" really pisses me off.

Fortunately, my GF knows more about LSU baseball and football than most male alumni.

So, maybe you should not be such a dickface and share your passion for LSU Football with her.

As I alluded to in my post above yours, my girlfriend didn't want to watch the Football Hype video posted here last week because she's still not over the ending to our baseball season.

We spend a lot of money and invest a lot of time(21 home baseball games last season and every home football game and at least one away game per season) into Baseball and Football.

And while we're not like some fans who think that earns them a vote on coaching decisions and play calling, we definitely view Football and Baseball as more than 'a game'. They are more like something between passion and obsession.

Before FB starts, interrupt her during her fav shows a few times and when she asks why you're being a dick, tell her to remember that feeling when FB season starts.

Unless it is a pure shite game, the SO is always on board with making sure we're there/in front of the TV.

Biggest issue we have is her trying to schedule "game watching" events with fans of other teams. Like "so and so invited us to go watch the UGA-South Carolina game with them, they said we can watch Auburn over there too" or "Let's go to [bar] and we can watch the Alabama and Auburn games with so and so."

Thankfully she knows the drill now. She calls bars and restaurants to make sure they'll have our game on, pays attention to start times, and has (embarrassed, I'm sure) called to ask friends whether they get ESPNU, etc.

I'm less of a freakshow about CFB than in years past, but if you let two women plan a football watching party, especially if multiple teams/games are involved, someone is going to get fricked.

"Oh, you cut the cord and can't get CBS? That's ok, he'll survive."

If this girls isn't even important enough for you to talk to during a college football game, do the right thing and cut her loose. She deserves better, and truth be told eventually you will find a woman who you think "you know what it's just a football game" compared to her.
