Football and Your SO

So, I've been seeing this girl lately and she brought up football season and how excited she was to watch the games with me. She's a good southern girl.
My response?
"I won't talk to you. Seriously, no offense, but I don't talk to people when I'm watching a game."
She laughed nervously.
"No, I'm serious. I don't want your feelings to get hurt when I ignore you, but you're welcome to come over and watch the game."
She just nodded.
I don't think she understood.
BUT I TOLD HER WHAT TO EXPECT.
How are you and your SO during the season?

It depends on the game.
LSU- my s/o is awesome and let's me watch with minimal interruptions.
Sometimes she'll ask questions but I don't mind because I love her and she's more important than football.

My wife pretends to like LSU for me (she's not from LA) but mostly she makes football food and drinks with me.

My wife and kids are more important to me than a football game, PERIOD.
In fact, my nieces and nephews are more important to me than a football game. I had tickets to last year's LSU/Arkansas game, first level 50 yard line. My niece had a play she had a starring role in and she was devastated that I wouldn't be there to watch her acting debut. I sold the tickets to the football game and set in the front row of my 11 year old nieces play. Not even a second thought as to whether it was the right choice.
If this girls isn't even important enough for you to talk to during a college football game, do the right thing and cut her loose. She deserves better, and truth be told eventually you will find a woman who you think "you know what it's just a football game" compared to her.
Or possibly you are just gay and enjoy football more than women and just need to go ahead and come out of the closet.
