That’s ridiculous. Your family couldn’t call the restaurant themselves?

Wife got super pissed at me once because we had family in town and were going to go out to eat. But before we left the family wanted us to call the restaurant to see if they had wifi. No wifi meant their kids couldn't use their tablets. I told them there was absolutely zero chance I was going to make those calls and they could all go out themselves. Piss on that.

This sounds mad up There's lots to do on tablets without a wifi connection. Not t o mention most cell phones have hotspot capability. Any parent that would call to see if a restaurant has wifi would likely know about feature.

You’re 33 and only grew up with 3 channels? I don’t believe you

Bro, if you haven't been on a ten hour road trip with two toddlers, then shut the frick up.

That's a special occasion though. And what the OP is saying is true. On top of that it is addictive to children and it makes an impact in other learning process such as creating attention deficit, lack of social interaction or skills, etc.

I'm no psychologist but I have a 6 yr old and see other parents use it. I have a tablet at home and my kid doesn't even know I have one.

Why do people think that if their kids play on tablets sometimes that they also don't play outside or with toys?

B/c in today's world, it is 100% one side or the other in an argument.

Where did you grow up. I grew up in small town LA and remember watching discovery and history channel as well as PBS all before 1st grade in 1991

And to the people saying they were 33 or 36 and didn’t have cable until college, you started college in the early 2000’s. I guess I’m just confusing cable with having more than 3 channels.

It was awesome in the mid-90s when WB and UPN started coming over the air. I'm 36 and also did not have cable until college. We did always have computers and console systems, though.

I don't really care what other people do but for the love of God if you bring a kid with a tablet to a restaurant make them more it or put on headphones. No one else wants to hear their cartoon or video game noises!!

Got it. I was small town, but not rural. I guess that’s why. #urbanprivilege
