No, I’m just questioning why there’s so much negative sentiment in this thread toward ICE simply enforcing immigration policy.
Because the OT has a small but vocal coalition of Libertarians and liberals that band together on things like illegal aliens.

This has been argued multiple times.
How many US citizens have been deported?
People keep bringing up that that is the biggest concern.
I need to know how many American citizens have been deported.
I doubt it’s very many. I found this GAO report:
quote:
Available data indicate ICE and CBP took enforcement actions against some U.S. citizens. For example, available ICE data indicate that ICE arrested 674, detained 121, and removed 70 potential U.S. citizens from fiscal year 2015 through the second quarter of fiscal year 2020 (March 2020).
I would imagine that is an insanely small percentage of total deportations. I’m not saying it’s likely.
I’m also not suggesting that every person accused of being here illegally should be entitled to a jury trial or anything of that nature. I’m responding to the question of why someone accused of being here illegally should be entitled to any legal proceedings.
I don’t have any sympathy for illegal immigrants. Deport them all. I’m simply saying that someone who is here legally should have an opportunity to prove it to someone other than ICE/CBP, if and when those mistakes happen.

Liberals i get. But to me it’s seems contradictory for any Libertarian to support open borders or weak immigration law.

The problem arises when a bad actor sworn to protect the country intentionally allows or facilitates entry for 10-20 million people. It leaves the system completely inept, making it hard to undo and any future leader who wants to try basically has to devote endless funds and all of their political capital to it.
I would take the “I’m not necessarily against deportation but we must be above reproach in the process!” people more seriously if those same people were demanding accountability for the treasonously destructive acts that put us in this situation.
They’re not, so I don’t.

You shouldn’t take them seriously. Because theyre dishonest. That’s just cover. Most of them want flows of illegals to continue. Mainly because they think it will benefit their political party. Cant beat the other team? Bring in a bunch of ringers.

again, i don't understand how border security and immigration policies are now considered tribal, a team thing, or an agenda. since when?
Just saying sometimes a person's actions are largely ignored until the perfect moment for the perfect whataboutism.

Nothing is perfect and holding the standard as perfect results in a hamstrung system.
I do not ascribe to the “if one person is wrongfully convicted” mantra.
I find fault in libertarian hardliners as much as I find fault in communists.
I’ve lost faith in humanity in general, over the years (particularly 2020 onward).

So entering a country illegally is not probable cause?
Democrats when people (brown not white) enter the country:
frick our laws, frick the constitution, frick all those people out there waiting their turn, spending the time and money to enter legally.
Democrats when (Trump not Obama) deports these same illegals:
Reeeeee we must give all these people due process, reeeeeee they deserve their day in court no matter if it will take 125 years, Reeeeeeeee they will snatch any of us, reeeeeee the constitution!!!!!!!!!!!

If the answer is no, you're making my point pretty well.
What if he has real ID?
If the asylum seekers don't want to be deported, they should hustle down to the nearest ICE center and make sure their residency / citizenship application is current and active.
If they have time to protest , burn the US flag and wave the flag of their cultural home that instills so much pride in their life, they have time for paperwork.

LOL…That exact thing has happened though
If you have deportation orders you've already been to court. There is a lot of conflating going on on both of sides of the debate on this thread.

I’m a little surprised this even has to be said, to be honest. Even murderers caught in the act by police are entitled to a trial.
Do you really think even 1 single Trump admin deportee has not already been through the criminal court system and immigration court, infront of a judge with a public defender?
Many of them had due process during DJT1 and the Biden admin with valid deportion orders.
