True story:

My mama used to carry mace in her purse but never shot it. One day I told her she should test it out to makes sure it still works. Before I realized what was happening, she shot me right in the face! It worked: I doubled over and my eyes and skin burned for hours.

I'm glad she didn't carry a gun.

Was this the moment you realized that your mom lied when she said she loves all of her kids equally?

If it didn't say otherwise, I would have assumed he was shot in the face since its in Florida

Yep. Because if I have a legitimate need for a bullet proof vest, that's where I am going.

Doesn't sound like he was really wanting to test it. Turns out he was right.

Sadly, this incident isn't the first of its kind.

Sadly, or luckily?

My mom tested one in the kitchen one day while my dad and the dogs were around the corner in the living room. With all of the fans on, it basically got all 4 of them. Poor dogs.

I hope the vest had a money back guarantee.

It did. Came with a really good lifetime guarantee.

They could have dressed up a mannequin for the test, but used a dummy instead.
