The Florida State's Attorney's Office said the incident happened May 9 when Orlando Police Officer Sean Murphy pulled over 25-year-old Zavier Askew because his vehicle had an expired tag. The officer said he observed a broken window and what he suspected to be marijuana inside the vehicle.
When the officer searched the car, he said he discovered a bag of marijuana in the vehicle's glove box. Askew then attempted to run away, jumping into the driver's seat of the car as the officer also ran to the vehicle, where he ended up dangling out of the driver's window.

Reminds me of the kid from Germantown who did this in Oxford. Except it was coke he had, and he ran over the police officer killing him. This guy is lucky he didn't kill the cop too, the kid in Oxford got 25 years

What’s sad is, the driver is setting themselves up for an extreme charge over some petty stuff.
Weed really doesn’t even get prosecuted at all anymore.
And then, if the officer could have gotten to his gun and shot the driver, the officer is completely justified because dragging someone down the road can easily cause death.
So, yes, it’s stupid for the officer to go extra for just weed and then it’s even way way way more stupid for the driver to drag the officer

None of this would have transpired if dumbfrick hadn't been driving a car with an expired tag and broken window (probable cause for a traffic stop), but "muh weed!" Driver numbnuts is the one who decided to run and make matters worse and endanger lives.
He's lucky the officer wasn't able to pull his pistol or we'd have another police killing of an "unarmed black man." One of my former co-workers at LSP ended up on the hood of a car on I-10 in St. John the Baptist Parish and shot and killed the driver through the windshield.

Yeah you're right. Train him to not escalate a fricking expired sticker to a situation where he almost gets killed. Pull the guy over, say get your sticker up to date and send him on. Every car that is stopped does not need to be searched.
At least it didn't cost him this time.
