must not have been much left in the tank...i would have thought it would have been much worse.

From inside and outside camera angles. The couples reactions must have been amazing.

How do you not die but only sustain non-life-threatening injuries from that?

Because under your skin is mostly non compressible liquid, and on the other side of the car skin is low pressure air.

Glad they had only minor injuries (burns), but two things do come to mind:
1. The exploding tailgate car "mayhem like me" commercial.
2. The couple must be considered in the running for a "Darwin Award" honorable mention (because they did survive).

How do you explain this one to the claims adjuster? Think of that conversation. And, please tell me they had their coverage cancelled. If not we're all paying higher rates for this. You can't fix stupid!

I'm curious to know how much of the damage came from the explosion and how much from the collision?

Windows are not built to prevent them from being pushed out right? I mean they are all blown out perfectly, I'm guessing it probably doesn't take a lot of force to do that because they are not built to stay put for an inside the car explosion.

Same with the gas cap and everything else.

The roof is a different story? Could be from the jaws of life if used?

With all the additives they put in propane to detect the gas, you would have though they would have smelled something.

They're lucky the gas tank didn't ignite.

People like that are the ones who go pump $5-10 at a time, so there's probably not much gas in the tank at any given time
