MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (WPBF) – A 77-year-old Florida woman was arrested after authorities rescued 80 cats from her home.
Authorities suspect the mail carrier collected feral cats along her route.
The news has people in a Martin County neighborhood who have missing cats wondering if she took their pets.
Ninety-two animals, including 80 cats and 12 dogs, were rescued from a home in Stuart’s Foxwood community on Monday.

Sheriff John Budensiek called it the worst case of animal hoarding he has seen in Martin County.
The sheriff said animal control tried to get inside the home for about a week, but the owner, Gail Giustino, refused to cooperate.
Court records show Giustino was issued more than 40 citations in 2015 for improper care or treatment of animals, but the case was dismissed.

I’ve got a neighbor that we went to her house one day just to visit. She invited us in. She had around 10 cats and the smell was unbearable. We stayed maybe 5 minutes

How does someone live like this?

Wait, that woman was still delivering the mail?
Doesn't the federal government force you into retirement at a certain age?
Nothing in the article about her being retired...

Can’t find it in my heart to make fun of this lady. She’s mentally unwell and probably thought she was helping the stray animals. Just sad really.
ETA: I see she’s been cited a ton for stuff like this. Still sad.

She was performing a service to the community and still working.

She looks exactly like I figured she would.

Feral cats are not easy to catch. You pretty much have to trap them whenever they come out of their hiding spots.
If she was collecting cats while delivering the mail then she was probably grabbing people's pets or pet dumps/domesticated strays.

Next question is from where did she get all of those cat carriers? Garage sales?

At least she seems to have kept them inside, unlike a lot of other shitty cat owners.

Mental illness. If she liked to pretend she was a man it would be acceptable. Weird what our standards are.
