So, this guy was far too stupid to know the Earth is a round planet, but thought he was smart enough to build a rocket to test his hypothesis.

Imagine that, it didn't work out quite as planned.

Any plan that starts and ends with strapping yourself to a rocket cobbled together from bits and bobs in a shed out back cannot be a good plan.

I agree. Inevitable this guy was destined to kill himself. IMO it was all just a publicity stunt, designed to draw attention to himself. Maybe he thought some rich guy would eventually offer a prize ($) if he would take that piece of junk he assembled to a designated height? Still I wonder, did he have a rear view mirror on that contraption? And if so did he have an "Oh S##t Moment" when he saw that parachute fluttering away from his rocket? I think so.

Regardless he had his 15 minutes of fame. By the way....the earth is still round.

Even if he didn't get killed? What did he expect to see when he only gets like 2,000 feet into the air? If he wanted to see the ice walls that hold the water in, he needed to get higher.

What's even more sad is that he may have gotten up high enough to realize he was wrong the whole time.

Heard about this guy on a Last Podcast on the Left episode on Flat Earth. Gotta hand it to the guy, he was about flat earth.

He was also pretty fricking smart considering he basically taught himself rocket science.

And he didn't figure it out then. Guess some people are slow learners.

He rode out a launch and landing previously. Had two chutes on it.

His balls were black for a month after the first landing.

The landing was not what one would call smooth.
