Flashing yellow arrow traffic lights in BR

I just saw a YouTube ad where Mayor Broome comes on and talks about how to navigate a flashing yellow arrow traffic light in BR.
This is the biggest problem in BR??? And what the City needs to be spending money on???? Idiots!!!

Well, a flashing yellow traffic light actually doesn’t mean shite!

Flashing yellow just means you can make the left without a green. I don't know who wouldn't support that.

Yall will biatch about anything. The whole country is moving to this. If we didn't, you'd biatch about how everyone else is adding progressive safety feature and we're not.

Flashing yellow means caution, get out of BR, and NO.

Texas has had these for forever and they make traffic a lot better

In other news, you can turn right on red if there is no sign present telling you not to.
The more you know.
The more you know.

I’m going to be the honest person here. I consider myself an intelligent person and the flashing yellow arrow is still throwing me off a little.
I live right in the middle of BR and go through flashing yellows prob 8-12x a day. It’s like a green light for turning left before, but the green light made the turning left across Perkins gamble seem fun because it was green. Like go for the gamble, my guy! Now the flashing yellow arrow is like ehhhh go, but I’m not sure if you should…
Solid green light for turning left across Perkins was like my conscious talking when making bets on the sports app. Blinking yellow is like my wife giving me her two cents on placing our grocery money on the sports betting app.

In BR red means you can take the same turn so it really is a moot point.

You sound like a person that doesn’t know how to use the arrow.

You can turn left on red if it's a one way.

Only the green ones. I’m not sure about the yellow ones.

I hate the flashing yellow. I get that it is supposed to make traffic better, but I’m not really sure how or why. It’s no real difference from having two green then arrows opposite each other. The only difference is the flashing yellows are more confusing for people.
And they seem to make the light cycles longer in my experience of the ones I go through daily.

Considering yourself an intelligent person and being an intelligent person are two different things

Here’s my real contribution to the thread:
It’s the epitome of BR. The flashing yellows are new all over town in the last 6-12 months. Don’t genuinely help turning left anywhere. Cost of the new lights + installation + number of intersections I’ve seen them = City of BR prob spent $5m+ on these stupid flashing yellow arrows. A better thread would be how I can bitch about about all of the other ways the city could have spent money.
Reminds me of 10 years ago when I was having daily breakdowns over dealing with Essen Lane and the city released a statement that the lights on Essen were intentionally not synchronized to control the number of cars adding to interstate traffic. Pre-Essen expansion. I saw an actual fist fight at the Essen & Perkins intersection bc of left turning traffic blocking the intersection for an entire light cycle in the other direction.
I feel like I’m stuck in this city for another ~17 years (I have a 1 year old) and expect there to always be dumb traffic related bullshite (I put bs and then decided I needed to spell it out) that 17 years from now driving through this city will be exactly the same.

The responses in this thread tell me all I need to know. Traffic in BR will never improve as long as its drivers are this dumb.
Flashing yellows are all over Texas. If it’s flashing, and the road is clear, make the turn. It’s not that complicated.

Baw, I was on Stuart making a left onto Perkins and I must have missed three cycles because I kept getting that flashing yellow arrow.
