Doesn't even count local or federal dollars.

Yeah its pretty much just 1 years budget so only 2% of the budget for the next 50 years.

Is exactly what I would do with the Texas Rainy Day Fund if I were Governor of Texas. If we can transport oil via pipeline, no reason not to do so with water and doing so would be an economic explosion for the State -- rural and urban areas.

What Corpus really needs is a modern day Highland Lakes project to build reservoirs. Unfortunately the "environmental" NGOs would sue it into oblivion. It's no coincidence that most of the major water reservoir projects in the US were finished in the '40's and '50's before these clowns existed.

Corpus Christi approved Exxonmobil’s massive petrochemical complex while promising a desalination plant would be operating by 2023. They knew how much water was needed, collected fees to fund the new supply, then spent years fighting over it before canceling the project.
But sure, blame the fricking cooling towers. That’s easier than expecting Corpus Christi’s City Council to own a decade of municipal incompetence. Try again.
