Required or optional?
Residents where i consult it sounds like will have the option — they’ll have to sing the normal vaccination form that they consent to for flu/pneumonia/etc.

Sure, but they have never been used and none have previously been produced and approved for use here.
And? just a quick read up about the mechanism behind mRNA vaccines seems like they would be safer than DNA vaccine

Legit question.
We get Coronaviruses all the time. Kids, and homeless people get them constantly. None wreck ppl as far as I know.
Vaccines commonly frick people up long term. A brand new vaccine strategy being employed in this case is even more cause for concern.

Would you recommend your parents take it if 1 is overweight/http/cad and the other has seriously two working cardiovascular arteries?
I’m guessing they don’t have much to lose — ages Almost 76 and almost 73.

Saw a funny comment that Bill Gates couldn't wait to take control of her 90-year-old body.

COVID seems quite different from other coronaviruses, no? If not, why did we struggle with treating it in the beginning?

define "common"
because I don't think its as "common" as you think
sure there are statistical outliers, but I don't really pay much attention to vaccine outliers just like I don't concern myself with COVID outliers

why, exactly?

but a 90 year old woman who would break a hip after a bout of diarrhea has no qualms at all.
To be fair, a 90 year old has a whole frick ton less to lose than a healthy 30 year old.

What do I have to lose by waiting and watching?
Nothing.
But you are in a position of authority, and people will look to you for advice.
With as much fear mongering about the vaccine there is out there, its frustrating to see someone in the medical field play into that affirmation.

Maggie is 90.
The average life expectancy of a female in the UK is 83.1.
Why exactly is she prioritized?
Every "scary" COVID number has to do with people her age.
Let's hope it works and reduces those numbers so not even the dimmest person can spread fear any longer.

Nope.

I choose to state that I don’t have enough knowledge on the position and it wouldn’t be prudent for me to give my position out as medical fact.
Well...you are here giving out your opinion. And you know how many people read this board and how quickly this shite gets spread.
At what point will we know the "long term affects" of the vaccine? 1 month? 1 year? 5 years? 10 years?
This is my issue with that stance. You can hold that position forever.

Covid different from other Coronaviruses
Not for healthy people. This was here for 2-3 months before we really even noticed. Most people hardly even get sick.
quote:
vaccines commonly mess people up
The UK just paid out huge sums for an experimental vaccine, I think SARS that causes permanent neurological issues.
quote:
new strategy, why is that concerning
Because we don't know how it affects ppl typically long term.
We know flu vaccine is safe. Yet, every year we tweak it making a brand new vaccine. I trust it though as the strategy etc is well established.
RNA vaccines should be safe.
I'd recommend to old ppl or high-risk ppl. But, for healthy people it makes no sense.
I believe chicken pox vaccine was used in japan for 7 years before it was here. Chicken pox and Covid both incredibly unlikely to kill kids. Yet, we are gonna rush a vaccine and give to kids? That's just insane.
