With as much fear mongering about the vaccine there is out there, its frustrating to see someone in the medical field play into that affirmation.

Someone in the medical field exercising caution with a new vaccine, a new TYPE of vaccine makes me feel like I'm ok to be cautious as well. So I for one appreciate his answer.

He said for HIM he won't take the chance BUT that's him .. he answered my question re: my parents with basically saying they're at risk, they should.

How do we know though? Applying your logic, we can't possibly know yet.

The UK just paid out huge sums for an experimental vaccine, I think SARS that causes permanent neurological issues.

You were saying that the only way to stop the spread is through population immunity in a thread earlier, but are now saying it makes no sense to achieve that through a vaccine?

I don't understand you people sometimes.

It wasn't rushed. We have been studying mRNA vaccines for decades.

We have never allocated the amount of resources to one vaccine as this one.

If y'all want to achieve herd immunity, its worth the risk.

Your stance is essentially that no questions or concerns should be voiced then.

Voice your concerns, but back those concerns up with something of substance.

Not "well we don't know the long term side effects", which could be applied to literally everything that has been developed in the last decade.

Completely agree.

The problem is people don't look for information.

They look for affirmation.

only way to stop virus is population immunity

Population immunity can be achieved through a combo of natural infections and vaccinations.

This virus won't just "stop" unless it mutated away like SARS.
It's gonna be around in small numbers for a decade or more.
Ppl got polio in the US into the late 70s.
Who gives a shite if people under 50 get the Rona? It's on par with driving a vehicle for a year in terms of risk. If you immunize the unhealthy amongst sub 50 y.o. population that mortality rate will further crater.

Yeah. No shite. Guess what demographics make up the largest % of the population though? The people that are not high risk to COVID.

The ‘technology’ for mRNA has been around since 1989 - it was never approved before because of problems with efficacy.

Covid-19 is the new improved corona virus that was discovered in the last quarter of 2019, some crazy killing machine of a coronavirus.

So the technology that is used for the Covid vaccine is not rushed - but the vaccine itself is.

You throw millions of dollars at a pharmaceutical company and they will give you what you want.

Well Maggie can’t really leave the nursing home so I’m sure she doesn’t care if Bill Gates has a tracking device in her.

The process/mechanism is the same though. Its not like they went in blind.

We have been researching mRNA vaccines for decades, as well as researching them specifically for coronaviruses, such SARS.

Should we also ignore the massive liability these companies are accepting?

Y'all make it seem as though they are carelessly throwing these vaccines out there with no consequences if they frick people up.
