I know.

It's an asinine idea.

Broome is transforming BR one neighborhood at a time, and not in a good way.

Damn Mellow closing hits me pretty hard. Had some great times there. That entire area will soon be a crime infested shithole

RIP Melloween

Mr Ronnies is probably moving from a set location to doing food truck business.

When the area gets shitty, just drive to a new one.

The north side of campus could be amazing if they'd just bulldoze everything from the north gates to Downtown.

It won't happen as long as we have SJW's leading BR and LSU, though.

Who are "they" in this scenario? Government? Contractors? Because the properties in the bottoms are some of the oldest in Baton Rouge and alot of them have family ownership going back to reconstruction era, or so I've heard. Never in a million years would enough of the properties be sold off to redevelop the whole area.

It looks like Mellow Mushroom is closing a lot of stores. I searched on Google, and the first page had multiple recent stories of closures. Are they in that bad of shape financially?

No idea, but their food quality has slipped a great deal over the past 5-10 years. That's how it almost always goes when restaurants start expanding and franchising. But with so many markets getting new pizza places to compete with MM, not very good timing for a downturn in quality.

And I'm speaking about quality at the MM near me. I know quality can be store-dependent, but the one near me makes pretty bad pizzas, and they're nothing like the MM pizzas I used to get 20 years ago.

Are you thinking she caused the one on Burbank to lose so much money they had to close those other locations down?

I doubt it.

You're messing with the 'Mayor Broome is the reason for everything bad' narrative.

The first one I ever went to blew my mind. It was REALLY good. The one in BR was good while I lived there and was always jammed on bar nights. The last time I was in town I went by and the food wasn’t any good at all. The mellow in Lake Charles sucks too. I doubt it lasts long.

Usually when an originally non urban business goes urban it spells the end. It’s just the way it is.

Why is it so hard to keep non-paying customers out? Charge a cover, give out a wristband and if you don’t have one you’ve gotta GTFO
