hat was the point of this thread....as much as you'd think schools would at minimum be meeting CDC guidance, our large high school isn't.

in no way do I expect my daughter's school to effectively enforce masks or social distancing

its kids

they don't give a shite about any of this

We didn’t even have a legit lockdown. If Trump gave a frick he would’ve done a legit lockdown back in March/April for about 6 weeks like they did in Europe. Yeah the economy would’ve been bad, but I bet we would be in much better shape right now.

That's kind of what happens when you constantly beat the DOOOOOOOOM drum, and then they take a look around and see that this is only affecting a extremely small portion of our population.

Are you a fat diabetic?

I saw kids congregating everywhere with maybe 10% wearing masks.

What's so funny about this take is that it suggests this has not essentially been the norm for the vast majority of American kids since March when they got released for the longest summer vacation ever. In my neighborhood it suddenly looked like 1984 with packs of kids riding bikes together from Easter until today. Keep in mind, this was not the norm BEFORE there was a pandemic.

Since then? It's been like a scene out of The Goonies, and just like them not a mask in sight. No huge rise in child deaths as far as I've heard...

FWIW, my youngest starts 8th grade on the 17th. They are doing an A/B schedule with half the kids going Monday, Wednesday and half going Tuesday/Thursday and then alternating Fridays between the groups. Some type of bullshite online nonsense will take place on the "off days" so I'm assuming I'll be home schooling quite a bit while this is going on. We have gotten calls LITERALLY every evening for the past two weeks from his principal talking about all the "safety" precautions taking place, which from the sounds of it will make any actual learning impossible given how often they will be cleaning hands and taking temps.

Daycares, camps, simply playing in neighborhoods, etc. Kids haven’t stopped being around other kids. Same for 15-22 year olds. House parties, beach trips... everyone who’s of age to be in school hasn’t stopped socializing. They’ve just found other avenues.

That being said, I fully expect an uptick in cases once schools, especially colleges, fully open. You have a ton a migration happening and many kids living in rural areas going to much more densely populated situations. It won’t cause any issue though no matter what fearporn gets propagated for manipulation.

I hope more schools will be doing the same.

I'm assuming he meant 10 minutes by car. That's a pretty long walk.

Send her to a different school or keep her at home.

Why are you so worried? There is virtually no chance she will be affected at all.

It takes me 10 minutes to drive to work. It's 2 miles. When I walk it takes me about 30 minutes. She'd be home in less than the hour it takes to drive.
