It’s way better than it was for my first 15 years ago

I threw up in the bushes outside the clinic, but was fine a couple of hours later.

You could've powered a small country with the assracket that came out of my stinkwhistle after I had mine.
Strong possibility you'll be uncontrollably ripping arse at 30,000 feet.
The upside is that you've nothing left in your poop chute so they don't stink, hopefully.
Colonoscopies are a cake walk. 1/10 on the medical procedure pain in the arse index (no pun intended). After having one done it's a tragedy that so many family members and friends have had to die or fight late stage colon cancer because they were scared of it.
Give me an endo/colonoscopy over a tooth filling every single time.

Just make sure you follow the instructions to the letter. Dose #1 of the prep was set for 5 p.m. the day before, and it worked on me before 6 p.m.
Dose #2 was to be taken at 2:30 a.m. the morning of the test (which was around 8 a.m.). Thankfully, by 5 a.m., the gastric convulsions had stopped.
Don't expect to get much sleep the night before because the urge to go is reoccurring and strong.
It's a small price to pay for early detection or a clean bill of health.

My recent experience:
> Prep was 2 bottles. Drink one at 5PM the night before with 5 cups of water, the second at 5AM the morning of the procedure with 4 cups of water. Really any clear liquid but the clear Gatorade I got was cherry flavored and tasted close to the prep so I ditched that.
> The prep will fill you up so you won’t worry about food once you start.
> The pooping started about an hour after taking the prep and continued for 5 hours. The later it got, the longer time between poops. Use wet wipes, not paper, and save yourself the red arse.
> The morning prep won’t cause you to go nearly as long but start early.
> I was told to take Dulcolax at 4PM the night before. Those medical folks hate poop!
> The procedure wasn’t bad at all. I remember being conscious enough at one point to hear the doctor and a nurse talking about a restaurant but then I fell back to sleep.
> After the procedure, you might not have the urge to poop but you absolutely cannot trust a fart for at least a day!
> I felt fine after but you don’t want to drive. A blood test would probably show you were under the influence.

The prep is the worse part. The drink is awful. I almost threw up taking it. Other than that, the drink works fast and you’ll be pissing out of your arse. a-hole will burn, but the exam itself isn’t bad and you’ll sleep well when you get home.

Schedule it first thing in the morning. You’re gonna be starving and God help you if you schedule an afternoon one and they are running late.
Best to get it right when you wake up and then go get a nice big breakfast with whoever brings you.

They have pills now. That’s what I’m doing next time.
Also, drink lots if water as you shite. Cleans you out faster. Once it runs clear, I stop drinking that nasty stuff and just drink water to keep flushing.

Older half brother died of colon cancer about 7 years ago. He was 62 and I was 48. He’d never had a colonoscopy or gotten checked for anything. When they figured out what he had there was a complete blockage in his colon. By the time they got that situated the cancer had spread to his pancreas and liver. He didn’t make it long and I’m sure he was in pain.
I came home and told my doc I wanted a colonoscopy. He said I was a couple years early. Told him what happened and got it scheduled. Went in, got prepped and anesthetized and the procedure done while I was out. Prep sucked but actual procedure was super easy. I couldn’t swear that they did anything. Had another since at 5 years from first.
We’re all gonna die from something but I’ll be @&$!?ed if I will from something I could have gotten checked for and treated. F that. My brother left a wife and three children. One in HS and the other two in college. He’ll never see his grandchildren. Why? Cause a colonoscopy is GAY? Really. You’re a stupid MF’er if you believe that and deserve whatever happens to you if you act on that idea.

Good stuff everyone.
Mine's on Monday at 6am and my mind is trying to find every reason to ghost it.
Think I'll eat light this weekend like a bunny rabbit.

Keep in mind, though, that most prep schedules require you to get up four hours before your procedure to finish the last half of the liquid.
I received strict instructions to NOT follow the directions on the jug but do what they told me (half the night before, half the morning of).
So if you schedule it for 8 you'll be up drinking that at 4 a.m.

That's fricking stupid. Just do it and you're likely good for 10 years.

You have almost uncontrollable diarrhea. You can sleep if you want to but I’m staying up all night.

Maybe this is tmi but is the prep gonna give me painful cramps?
Everyone will be different, but that was not my experience. You need to stay close to a toilet and, at first, prepare to park your butt there for a bit. If you feel the rumbling, don't hesitate. After the first two or so explosions, most of it's gone, but you'll make a few more trips. Then you will feel tired and drained -- and you will be drained. My wife had a tougher time, but then the prep work she had to do was more involved. Not sure why. I just mixed the stuff and put it in the fridge to get cold, then drank it. Just wasn't as bad as I was expecting or as people let on.

I told the cutie trying to get my IV in that I was pretty sure I'd crapped a piece of bubble gum that I swallowed in middle school the night before.

I'm fairly certain she has heard that damn near weekly.

You will feel groggy but once that wears off...it was a good feeling getting a lot of substance out of my body...
