Traffic is only backed up to Acadian. Took that to Government. Not an ounce of traffic.

Old bridge traffic has 110 north backed up to Evangeline.

Has anyone ever suggested that Baton Rouge needs a loop? Lake Charles has one.

They definitely need a loop, specifically a new bridge. In the mean time there is a quick fix. Direct all truck traffic over the Huey Long Aka the old bridge. The big rigs are the problem, whether it is trying to navigate the hard left turn to get to the bridge west bound, or the incline that slows them down. The bridge is a meeting place of cars moving fast and trucks moving slow. Directing them to the old bridge would eliminate most of the problems. Old bridge has a long straight approach, and does not have a steep incline. Plus it's in north Baton Rouge so who cares if it backs up

Of course that would not alleviate all of the problem because some people just drive like assholes, but it would take care of the bulk of the issues.

TL;DR. Solution is to direct big rig over to old bridge

Just drove past it. The car is removed and they are finishing up the last of the cleanup. Well, one person is cleaning and the others as are standing around watching the guy clean or standing around watching the traffic...

So what is the "HW" bridge?

I have heard MRB, high rise bridge, I10 bridge.

I believe Horace Wilkinson Bridge is the official name for the I-10 bridge over the Mississippi River at Baton Rouge.

The "High Rise" bridge is in New Orleans

No one calls it the Horace Wilkinson bridge in Baton Rouge. It is referred to as the New Bridge.
