Probably whoever's cousin owns the land south of Shintech

Shintech owns a good bit of it. Their current expansion is south of the last two routes

Which one of these is closest to the casino? That will be the one.

Needs to start at the end of Gardere or Bluebonnet

Absolutely not, that not far enough out of BR to do what this thing is hoped to do.

Anything short of this is useless and a waste of money. I mean it's not that hard to figure out. No survey was really needed for that and yet no I-10 on the 3 proposals.

So I guess that means you drive out of the way to get to the loop?

Yep. Great plan.

I just don’t see how any of those routes are going to help being so far south. Have they even discussed how they’re gonna address the traffic on LA 1? If the route isn’t a convenient way to get over the river, how do they think it will be an attractive alternative?

It is my understanding they are widening both HWY 1 and HWY 30 while also connecting lobdell to HWY 1 close to plaquemine (maybe south of plaquemine, I am unsure) for better access to new bridge.

See my first post in this thread. Couple this with access to I10 further west, and you've effectively created a BR loop.

This thing will see 30k ADT while Horace Wilkinson will continue to see 150k.

It should have been built directly adjacent to HW but we are way past that now..

I know they are attempting to build a connector at LA415 south over the ICWW. Thats already had an issue tho wit a proposed biodiesel plant being built in the middle of that route

But LA1 from Brusly thru Plaquemine has quite a few red lights. Seems it will be another I49 (in Lafayette proper) if they leave all those redlights on the route. IOW fixing a problem by creating more problems.

Not when the other part of the "loop" is done. Any traffic not going to BR will take this new bridge instead.

It truly amazes me the amount of people that whine about BR needing a loop and then these same people will piss and moan about it being designed That may not be you, but you're no better with saying it should be built right next to the current bridge. What exactly will that fix?
