I’m sure my far distant grandchildren will be excited to see construction start in their old age

is it just a matter of whose pockets to fill? is that why it's taking so long?

Just need to get from wherever the new bridge runs into LA1 to I10 somewhere more like Grosse Tete and boom, effective loop

That undoubtedly is being planned as well. but there aren't many "easy" paths.

Glad none include the Bluebonnet corridor as a possibility!

Needs to start at the end of Gardere or Bluebonnet and end somewhere behind Dow Chemical north of Plaquemine.

I wonder who owns all that farm land south of Plaquemine?

The problem is money. The amount of money it would take to build an elevated expressway through a protected wetland would be off the charts. Yes, there are route options. We may see the bridge built in our lifetimes, but not the connector. We may all be driving flying cars before then.

And it would need to be an express route back to 10 east of Port Allen.

Which moron designed these routes?

So no traffic improvement for BR and potentially frick up Roberto’s. Lovely.

You obviously haven't read one of the 1500 other threads on this.

The Dow route was ruled out earlier for river navigational reasons. Baton Rouge threatened to kill the project if it connected with Bluebonnet. Nobody wants to dump massive amounts of traffic onto Bluebonnet with all those people trying to get to I-10.

So I guess that means you drive out of the way to get to the loop?
