MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Franklin Parish Sheriff’s Office told KNOE 8 News that arrests are “likely” after an altercation in the Franklin Parish High School stands Thursday night, according to Sheriff Kevin Cobb. Cobb said he received several complaints about Carroll coaches using profanity in the pressbox during the game. Cobb said the coaches were asked “numerous” times to stop using profanity. “During the 4th quarter, I was asked to go to the press box to address the profanity issue again,” Cobb said in a statement to KNOE. “At that time, I came into contact with the Carroll coaches. In an attempt to escort them back to the Carroll sidelines out of the Franklin Parish stands, the coaches continued to use profanity, and once coach refused to leave the stands.” Sheriff Cobb said one of the coaches made physical contact with him as he attempted to get the Carroll coaches to leave. Cobb said fans in the Franklin Parish stands assisted members of law enforcement.

The band should've played the 'hey hey hey, goodbye' song.

Were the coaches in their own box or the other teams box or the press area?

I wondered about that too. They must have both teams boxes on the Home side.

I have been in many press boxes across LA in eight years of doing HS FB radio and seen some very uncomfortable situations in press boxes that are open and not partitioned

From what I read on other facebook/sportsline, several Carroll coaches in the FPHS (home) press box. Cussing a lot. Asked to stop by fans, the announcers, principal, and finally sheriff. They would never stop. Sheriff goes to remove them. One refuses. Supposedly puts his hands on the sheriff...gets a little physical. Home fans try to help sheriff out. On field Carroll coaches leave their bench, run all the way across the field mid game stopping the game, into the bleachers, and then that's where the video picks up at with the big pile of bodies in the stairs/aisle.

East Carroll or West? They down to a combined school now? I bet the WC folks are using a private school now.

Why would grown men be crude enough to shout profanities at a high school family event?

I know Kevin Cobb. He’s a good dude. I would take odds on him over 2-3 thugs from carrol high.

I remember playing them in baseball back in the day. Their catcher showed up in football pads. They had a pitcher named chicken wang.

What? Isn't this normal?

This really seems like a non story. If they did a report on every altercation at a HS football game they wouldn't have time to report anything else on Thursday and Friday nights.

One of my nephews played football (he graduated 2 years ago) for a small Catholic school (if it matters 98% of the time was white). The confrontations/altercations they would have right after the game.. Or if it was an away game, they would wait until the bus pulled up and school. My brother said it was always the same group of parents.

It was a 1A school, most players played both ways and if someone's kid stayed out of the game for too long or the team lost it was always the coaches fault. They don't keep coaches too long and that is a big reason why, but profanity. I mean you can hear the coaches on the field cusses their asses off. I don;t get this.
