I have one with my ex, and zero with my new one. There won't be anymore either. So that's a .33% replacement. I have zero desire to bring anymore children into this fricked up world. Plus i think overpopulation is one of the biggest issues we face, so i want to do my part.

A son has lived in Japan for close to 4 yrs now & recently married a beautiful Japanese in her early 30's. On a recent trip I met 18- 20 of her friends, all females. Only 5 were married. All were 8+'s & up & well educated. During several conversations over 2 weeks, they all repeated the same line: most Japanese, male & female, are not interested in developing relationships, leading to marriage. As a result, the Japanese birth rate is dropping at a very fast rate. This has been going on for several yrs now.

Typical. If you can’t have gratitude for how far humanity has come don’t be surprised if the progress you take for granted deteriorates back to our mean.
There has never been a better time in our history to live. Yet we still bitch about it. Maybe that attitude has been true though out time or maybe good times have created weak men.

If it makes you feel better, Japan is about 20 years ahead of Europe so they have treaded water for several decades. Of course the American consumer was essentially the life raft, which is sinking right now.
We can hypothetically import highly skilled labor when the Chinese finally achieve their regional hegemony, or do what the Chinese do and force our banks into lending consumer loans to create growth and inflation, but that is a scary road and our government is too incompetent.
Once the boomers retire we will essentially have a dead economy unless Millenials and Zoomers start having kids. By then our banking sector will be zombies and the central bank will hold the majority of assets so I just don't see how this ends will without technology.

And it’ll lead to a Muslim dominated world in 50 years. They’re counting on it

All part of Bill Gates plan. A whole generation of kids raised mindlessly watching TV or Ipads. Young adults have LowT and no sex drive.

Now you understand the big push for immigration.

It’ll be okay. Me and my dad had this discussion last night. He told me as bad as this seems, it was nothing compared to the 60s. They had the same Marxist rhetoric then and it was louder.
And why did they shut up? They accomplished their goals. Now it's 50 years of indoctrination and wrecked demographics later.

I can't help but think this is a natural trend related to how reality solves the paradox of overpopulation as people live longer. Combined with the astronomical amounts of carbon emissions and population density in India and China, I really believe the planet is pushing back and society is having to adjust.
Having said that, the real alarm for me relates to the dysgenic effect of smart, educated people having fewer children while morons and thugs breed incontinently. The genetic hygiene of the planet is being degraded as IQ'S drop and brain sizes shrink. I really believe we are headed for a situation akin to the 2006 movie Idiocracy.

They've been running this propaganda for years. It's done to convince people that they need hordes of immigrants or they'll all die.

The amount of financial investment in to a "successful" child is astronomical, relative to years past.
The people who don't give a shite about it are the ones pushing out a bunch of babies now. The world is selecting for the indigent and moronic.
Well unless the Gubmint is paying for the children, they'll keep having them. So the free babies and free health care that OUR taxes take care of will soon rule the world. No one will work except us.

The demographic crisis that is coming isn't going to effect all countries equally, but all countries are going to be affected.
The demographic crisis is well under way as evdenced by the waves of illegal aliens desperate to get into the US and EU. South American, Middle East and African countries that can’t provide jobs, food and shelter for their citizenries, and thus are overpopulated, are pushing their poorest and least productive citizens out.
In desperation and ignorance they are pouring into any country that doesn’t physically block them, such as Hungary. None of them have any education about limiting the number of children they have so that they can better provide for them. It’s a humanitarian crisis that will only get worse with every child that’s born into a system that can’t provide for it.

This is a nice thing people tell themselves to remove the guilt, but let's face it - people who aren't having kids are rarely making some conscious effort because of the financial impact. They simply don't want to be "inconvenienced".
The cost to raise a child in an upper middle class home is ~$1M and my accountant estimated it much higher than that.
$1M is a hell of an inconvenience for most people.
Describe it however you want, if we don’t want a huge reduction in population we need to change the economics significantly and fast.
