If that makes you feel better about having to have children for someone to take care of you when you're old than I'll take my specific DNA ending.

I see it differently. I knew who I was a long time ago. Giving of time and effort for children wasn't something I was interested in. By knowing that, I say I would have not been a good parent IMO.
Can't knock you for making that decision if you feel that way. I would suggest that just the fact you have considered whether you are up for the responsibility probably means you would be a lot better of a parent than you might give yourself credit for.

I'm a great uncle. You know why? I'm great with them for a couple of hours, a couple of days, a week. More than that and my selfishness wins.
NOT Sorry for knowing myself.
I see nothing wrong with this. Being a parent isn't for everyone. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with admitting that about yourself. We are all so different with different view points and life goals.

my life would feel pretty empty without a big loud family to drive me nuts and take all my money.
i'm actually serious. i love my 4 kids like crazy.

It is wrong to not have children and raise them to be good people. It is wrong for you to be proud to be childless.

Don't be so literal, Dark Helmet.

I knew in high school I wanted nothing to do with parenting.
Maybe it was my own lack of solid parents.
Maybe I'm selfish.
I like other people's kids. I'm not judging those who have them, but do think some should not have had kids.
I'm a little over 50, retired and do nothing but play on the internet generally. And sit in the pool.
Which was my goal in high school. To live on the beach and do nothing and it's pretty much happened.

You have failed at life if you grow old and die without children.
It's our only real purpose in life

Kids are great, but I can’t help but feel really grateful that I don’t have to be responsible for raising kids in this environment and especially educate them, feed them, and steer them around positive influences for their lives. I don’t envy that responsibility in the least.

People used to tell me this bullshite lie all the time. I’m almost 40 and don’t feel any different than I did when I was 20. It doesn’t change. Either you’ll have kids or they’re just not for you.

To me, that sounds really empty and sad.

dude I think that is GREAT. I obviously don't think or want everyone thinking like me.
But having kids because someone wants kids or thinks they are suppose to have kids is a tragic mistake. Especially for the kids.
I'm sure most here are great parents. Or attempt to be.
I said most.
