But the AP needs to first make sure you all know that white people don't deserve to have their race capitalized.
LINK in case you want to hear a reporter at the AP tell you why the jury got it wrong

MONROE, La. (AP) - A federal jury in Louisiana on Wednesday acquitted a white state trooper charged with violating the civil rights of a Black motorist despite body-camera footage that showed the officer pummeling the man 18 times with a flashlight.

Wait, do not tell me that is a liberal whining about a grand jury?
I have heard that grand juries are pure of mind and motive and never make mistakes and are never led around by the nose by prosecutors.

Can’t wait to hear JBE’s statement.

He was acquitted at trial by a petit jury. Grand juries don’t decide cases.

It must be miserable to be so blinded politics that you celebrate this-
Guy sounds 100% like a bad cop that was justifiably fired. A jury decided that it didn’t rise to the level of a civil rights violation. Both things can be true.
quote:
State police didn’t investigate the Bowman attack until 536 days after it occurred and only did so weeks after Bowman brought a civil lawsuit. It ultimately determined Brown “engaged in excessive and unjustifiable actions,” failed to report the use of force to his supervisors and “intentionally mislabeled” his body-camera video. The AP found Brown, who patrolled in northern Louisiana, was involved in 23 use-of-force incidents between 2015 and his 2021 resignation — 19 of which targeted Black people. Brown still faces state charges in the violent arrest of yet another Black motorist, a case in which he boasted in a group chat with other troopers that “it warms my heart knowing we could educate that young man.”
quote:
On the night that Bowman was pulled over for “improper lane usage,” Brown came upon the scene after deputies had forcibly removed Bowman from his vehicle and taken him to the ground in the driveaway of his Monroe home. Video and police records show he beat Bowman 18 times with a flashlight in 24 seconds. “I’m not resisting! I’m not resisting!” Bowman can be heard screaming between blows.

Bet he wont hang out in the passing lane again

Well that certainly, very much looks like he didn't necessarily like brown people.

I'd consider being less than a full blown a-hole if I didn't know the difference between a grand jury and a regular jury. But that's what makes you being gthog so easy to spot

I see no issue with this comment.

Hey dipshit, the thread title said GRAND JURY. IT IS RIGHT THERE IN THE THREAD TITLE. It was not important enough to read the story.
I have heard much about the purity of our justice system, was shocked that some liberal would turn around and lie about it.
kind of cool to know that I have a noticable posting style, makes my day.

Hey dipshit, so was the clue it wasn't a grand jury Then you scrolled by a picture with an even larger headline...
After ignoring the 2nd clue, you then proceeded to skip the 3rd

Had your retarded arse had any inkling about us courts or grand juries, an alarm would've gone off. You let OP's mistake fuel your angry ignorance. No one is to blame for that, except you.

Yeah, I'd be real proud for being recognized for irrational anger and unfettered ignorance about a legal system you've lived in for 6+ decades. Quite the feat

He seems like a grade a a-hole. Also, always funny when they capitalize black but not white.

Fired for what?
Do we have the civil right to not to not be beaten by the police?

I'm sure there was a good reason for the beating.

I guess spellcheck had the writer take out the "allegedly"

The use of the term targeted seems a little much here. Not saying this trooper isn't a POS that doesn't deserve to be in jail; but if he was really targeting black people, I feel like he could have had a few more than 19 allegations in a 6 year time-frame.

So according to the headline, we are to assume that there was absolutely no attempts to flee, no resistance- and the trooper immediately started wearing him out for no particular reason.
I'm not buying- I'm selling.
