That was one of the most baffling forecasts I've seen. The Euro and Canadian had been on board for days and consistent. GFS had finally came to that solution. All of them had snow for the area. The NWS had it in the forecast by this point.
There was hesitation over the "warm nose" but all the tools and official forecasts showed it going away and some snow falling.
So why go against such a good consensus on the side of no impacts to the area vs how south Louisiana handles snow?
Winter weather is a tough forecast, especially when you're playing right at the freezing mark. I appreciate that there are going to be misses, but fricking miss high if you're going to deviate much from the NWS.

NOLA channel 8 just said maybe a few,flakes north of I-12 but nothing the city itself. 6 am or so is the eta for the front/sleet/snow.

Shreveport is getting between 0-85 inches of snow and the high will be somewhere between 35-72 today.

Yeah, don't trust weather apps. They're just giving you model data. It's not like they have people building these forecasts for them.
Also, yeah BR and South Louisiana, it's not looking promising for snow. But also, it never really was.

Pretty much where I thought those would start lining up. I'm glad you'll likely get a little snow rt3. Also, kind of glad to miss it here. If it's not going to be a 4" type event, is it really worth having everything shut down?

I haven't heard any talk of anything shutting down here yet honestly
like I said... I just want enough to see a few flakes fall and coat the roofs & grass to make everything wintry aesthetically pleasing
if I'm gonna freeze my nuts off... at least make it pretty

BR and our bridges mean freezing precip is an everything is shut down kind of situation. If we have to deal with that, better last December and the 4" vs last January's brutal cold and a pile of graupel.
