Welcome to another edition of "At the mall, with Hoodie and the bro-fish." One hand on each side of a spinning bar negates the spin.

yeh what if you just reverse the grip and hold still, wouldn't that defeat the spinning of the bar? Or is that considered cheating? Carnies hate a cheater and who knows what kind of spells and magic they can do.

We had to do this in the early 90s for that presidential medal competition in my elementary school. Chin and hold for two minutes got you the the Blue Ribbon which was equivalent to gold or first place. Out of our entire grade I think there were four or five of us that did it. Should be easy money for a lot of people

I guess it all comes down to who wants it the most.

Pretty sure the people who can do it for 2 minutes get put into a daily raffle

When I was in the service, I won the chin ups cup tree weeks in a row. frickin beautiful definition too. Guy asked me to model for the boxing poster, of course he was a half an Aggie but I was flattered all the same.

1. The bar spins
2. They don’t allow you to deadlift grip to prevent it from spinning
3. I watched a professional mountain climber do it in Vegas. He was struggling at the 2 minute mark. The average a-hole on the street has no chance.

So, you're saying there's a chance...

If they allow it, I'd give it the alternating hands grip like when doing deadlifts.

The rules sign at this kiosk specifically says forward or reverse grips are allowed, but no "mixed" grip. I'd imagine alternating hands is a mixed grip?

Most people don’t realize how long 2 mins is when you’re doing something like that
I had PT and they asked me to do "planks" to strengthen my core.
10 seconds - no problem could do this all day
30 seconds - wait this is not easy at all
45 seconds - I'm trembling and in pain.
Took a few session to work up to 3 rounds of 60 seconds each x 3

If it's a normal bar, you should be able to do it. But a lot of times, the bar isn't constrained on either end allowing it to rotate which makes it 10x harder.

Yep, tried it in Vegas a couple years ago. Bar rotated. I'm sure someone could do it but not me.

Na. Just grip strength.

If the bar is too big I can see where it could be an absolute motherfricker.

Circus dumbbell size would be awful.

My family and I ventured to the Mall of Louisiana

I was there on Saturday (day after Christmas). Had not been to that mall in years, but a piece of my kid received was the wrong size, I had to drop off some presents in BR anyways, and there was a Mignon Faget in the Mall of LA, so we went.

Noticed the following:

1) It was pretty packed. I'm sure it's one of the busiest days of the year, but still, it was packed.

2) I saw that kiosk and laughed.

3) That mall has such a strange layout.

4) I'd say about 1/3 of the crowd was white baws and their wives/kids, 1/3 black, 1/6 hispanic, and 1/6 asian.

5) They still have a Sears?

Solved with alternating grip. Also most people don't think to pull their chin up above the bar and then lock their joints. When you've had enough you drop down and hang. This relieves your muscles to a degree and shifts the pressure to your joints giving you a little extra time.

And mostly the homeless because they're schizophrenic and desperate. A lot of crazy people have retard strength. I have some in my family.
