I never post on LinkedIn. I essentially use it as an online resume. I've gotten a number of decent job offers on there over the years.

I’ve always taken the “would I want higher ups who barely know me to see this?” approach to social media, since I’m friends with a lot of coworkers & my husband’s acquaintances. I post very infrequently, and it’s usually just benign family pics. I don’t comment on controversial posts, since I don’t want my name tied to it. It’s boring, but I don’t have to worry about being tied to bullshite on there.

I don't understand why people us these avenues to preach their beliefs.
They should be used to keep in contact with family and friends and such,but like in normal life,don't discuss religion or politics.
Maybe enough people will learn,but I doubt it.

Facebook is a trashbin. I use it to troll people who take it oh so seriously. I get put in timeout sometimes. I don’t care. Go back and do it again whenever I’m bored.

I don't think people getting fired or reprimanded over social media posts is a new thing. My employer has been warning us for probably at least 10 years now that we can be fired over statements made on social media and suggests that we just don't do it.

Ever since the corona started, I've been posting and commenting on FB a lot less, a whole lot less, and I've completely given up on twitter.
I've also "unfollow" a lot of people on FB.
I still go on-line to read what people are doing, but the personal posts are now about 20 percent of them and 80 percent is political BS.
And with an election coming up, I don't see it changing anytime soon.
