If not for my parents, I could have rung up a nice bill at Piccadilly.

Anyone from Lafayette remember The Kettle? Always thought they were better than Shoneys.

There's still the "original" Shoney's in Gretna on the Expressway at Lafayette St. There's a little cemetery behind it, that they bought most of to build the Shoney's.
I miss, in the spirit of this thread, Piccadilly when they were good, especially in Belle Promenade in Marrero.
Although we used to complain about it, the A&G cafeterias, on in Westside in Gretna, and one in Marrero Shopping Center on the Expressway.
Belsome's on Belle Chasse Highway
The Log Cabin on Fourth Street in Marrero, it's now Schnell's which moved from Fourth and Ave. C to where the Log was.
Older me:
Shakey's on Veterans in Metairie for after football games.
Peppe-Roni's in Metairie
Luther's Barbecue with the big loaf of onion rings.
The old, Ye Olde College Inn. It's great now, but it's gone upscale.
T. Pittari's was my parents' favorite for special occasions. They moved and closed. My friend's family owned it.

Nothing comes to mind. The only places we ever went was Mr. Gatties, Dairy Queen, Red Lobster, and this local Chinese place. They are all still in business. We mostly ate at home.

We used to go to The Kettle late at night for their buffet (I think) during my high school and college years.
Going way back in time for Laffy, I used to love Mr. Cook and Burger Tyme (fast food).
