A: what she doesn’t know won’t hurt us. Referring to my mom.
B: if you get around a girl that smells like fish, stay away.

I try and reflect. My dad was never crude and I never heard him say the F word. Now when somebody wouldn’t dim their lights at night he would have some choice words and it was usually the GD SOB needs to learn how to drive.

He always stressed humility, service to others and what you give will come back 10 fold. I can honestly say that’s exactly what has happened to me. I’m never as humble as I should be or as grateful but I am grateful that I had a great, great dad. He set great examples, never took advantage of anyone and no way would I be where I am today had I not listened to him.

My dad always said, "Son, either shite or get off of the pot!"

He told my JV HS baseball coach one day after I was put into pitch and gave up 5 runs and got no outs..."Shute coach, I wouldn't have even thought about putting him in the game."

I was a basketball manager my senior year and the coach threw a whistle at me... my dad, "son, better ne glad coach can shoot better than he can throw a whistle! Did you teach him how to throw? If so, I see why he missed you..."

I'd have a hot date, can I take the car, "Ask you Mom." Mom says, "Ask you Dad," .. I tell the date that we're going out in the 1969 Ranchero and it has no a/c.

Loved my dad and miss him everyday

Not the most original, I still get a kick out of it.

My meemaw used to say this when I’d be over at their house and we watched the news and something came up about a murder. They’d show the suspect on tv and my meemaw would almost always say “Some people just need killin.”

My grandparents always told their children to “Keep us proud.”
My dad told me & my siblings the same (and still does.)
Now I find myself saying it to my kids.
3 little words…Pretty much sums it all up.

"Move on the crack of the bat." Anytime I didn't move while playing defense in baseball.

"Practice doesn't make perfect.
Practice makes permanent. Perfect practice makes perfect." Anytime I tried to cut corners.

"Just make a simple machine." Anytime I couldn't lift or move something.

"Leverage is your friend." Anytime I couldn't get a nail out of a board.

Focus on what you can control. The rest of the stuff will just waste your energy.

Manage your own destiny or someone else will.

Man do I miss him.

"I left your mom the day you were born because Melissa was waiting in the parking lot with an 8-ball and a blow job." -Dad
