Many doctors are obese themselves and have become scared to death to fat shame, especially to women. And they have become pill Mills in many cases
I work with more doctors per week than most see in a lifetime and I promise these two things are the tiny minority.
ETA:
They have become "pill mills" for cholesterol meds and stuff like that because it is their job to keep their patients healthy and alive. They can't control the impulses or eating habits of the patients.
But the term "pill mills" should be reserved for opiate prescription revolving door clinics and the very tiny contingent of despicable doctors that operate them.

Nothing wrong with being homosexual, didn't mean it that away if it came out like that I meant it's fine so long as you are truely homosexual and not just pretending to be one because it's the "in" thing right now as some of the latest studies have shown is happening.
Apologize if it came off as me saying homosexuality is Wrong, was using it as an example of people drifting in a direction to fit in.

You a med rep breh?
And I agree with all of this. There needs to be way more fat shaming. I take pride being in shape, especially when I visit Louisiana. It’s not nearly as bad in California, but obviously the fats still do exist.

I've said this in other threads but look at the difference in how society has handled smoking vs. being morbidly obese.
Smoking, like being fat, creates enormous health problems. Think of all the anti-tobacco PSAs and restrictions. Due to society largely condemning the activity, cigarette smoking has been seen as unacceptable and trashy. Society has pushed it outside of the pale of normal behavior.
Being morbidly obese, however, is somehow ok. Even suggesting someone lose weight is bullying and "fat shaming" and somehow makes the crisis worse. Yet our obesity rates continue to skyrocket. I get that we shouldn't be deliberately attacking people in the streets for their weight but billboards like these are exactly what is needed.
Why is it acceptable to push people to stop using tobacco and drugs but any attempt to remind the public that weighing 300 pounds is not healthy is considered a mean attack?

I'm all for public sponsoring of fat-shaming. The general US population is fat. It sickens me to see just how fat we are. The general person needs more education on how expensive it is to be fat. If fat-shaming starts the conversation, so be it.

Everyone ITT just doesn't get the struggle these people have to deal with day to day.
We should all learn to be more sensitive and understanding to the puffy people

We are fighting biology. We're programmed to store fat for the hard times. We're more sedentary than ever, but we still eat like we're farming from sum up to sundown. Our great grandparents aye a shite
diet-most of it was deep fried in lard. But they were skinny because just doing normal daily tasks burned up a lot of energy. As recently as the seventies and eighties the difference is noticeable. Look at a yearbook from that era and most people are thin. Even the fatties are on the small side compared to today.

You need to watch the documentary “Fed Up” on Amazon Prime. A lot of what you write is talked about. Not so much about the bullying part but why we were so effective in getting an entire generation to buy into the demonization of smoking, but yet we couldn’t do the same with healthy eating. Everywhere you look, there is sugar and poor food choices basically shoved in our faces.
I have a theory (albeit a conspiracy). It is all by design. I think the corn and sugar farmers, the healthcare industry and big pharma love that our population is obese and needs billions in healthcare every year. And addicted to sugar. Why wouldn’t they? It’s a vested interest.

I'll have to check that out, thanks. As far as it being a conspiracy, I think there is definitely lobbying at the billion dollar level from the corn and sugar industries but ultimately, it's the people that puts the food in their mouths. It's stunning to see how large portions are at sit-down, casual restaurants and how customers eat the entire amount.
The larger issue is that our society has gone weak and no longer has strength of will. Eating right requires saying no to your passions, something we don't do anymore. It's hard work in an era where most people work in an office setting. The hedonism and self-centeredness of our modern era says don't deny yourself in any aspect. You "deserve" whatever it is you want to indulge in, regardless of consequences.

People don't understand exercise vs. diet. Exercise should be a supplement to a good diet not the other way around (exercise because you eat horribly). You don't need to do crossfit everyday to be healthy if you are not eating like shite. If you're eating a healthy diet, all you need is to walk (i.e move).
