Serious question, I have no idea if it is not allowed by the government or something

Do cultural issues only count toward conservatism in the US?

Of course not. You listed three examples in your post I replied to: orthodox adherence, culture war, e.g., trans issues, etc, and parental rights. You didn't respond with any support for the former, and as another poster alluded, I really don't know what you men by the latter. I'll I have left to go on are the cultural issues you laid out. Since the two variables I provided are major issues in Russian society and, not considered conservative family values in either culture, I'd like to know those other positives you're referencing.

This is why it's so often impossible to have good faith discussions with those who frequent the poliboard. I asked questions inquiring to learn more about who I'm conversing with. On the other hand, you know nothing about my background yet assume your anecdotes outweigh anything I could bring to the table.

For what it's worth, I've been all over the former Soviet bloc, and met many Russians though I've never been to Russia. I've studied Russia for a long time, and my comparative Russian politics professor did write my recommendation to grad school if that matters.

Kinda sad that this guy or his wife didn’t have a friend, or the parents of a daughter’s friend, or the supermarket cashier or the mailman or ANYONE to talk them out of this

We really aren’t authoritarian. Enforcing laws amd expecting the enforcement of laws enacted by democratically elected representatives are not authoritarian. If we didn’t respect the laws our representatives passed and at local level the laws passed directly by the voters we would be going down the path to anarchy like in parts of LA due to local and state govts choosing who to enforce laws on and who to ignore breaking those same laws.

The republican govts at federal and state level with democratic aspects that are also based on federalism with the constitution separating out certain powers and responsibilities between states and federal along with the separation of duties and powers between branches of each level of govt doesn’t play well with a true authoritarian government which is closer to dictatorships and oligarchy rule.

The 10th amendment is still around even though Dems only support state’s rights when a Republican is President. The 10th should be brought to its level of importance and respect at the beginning of our current constitution as without it and other limits on federal power the constitution would not have been ratified. Certain people should stop equating it to bringing back slavery while attempting to hide their push for increasing federal power over the states.

Russia doesn’t have changes in power any more. Even Obama during his infamous hot mic kiss up to Putin realized that the current Russian President next to him on the podium that day was a fraud and that Putin was still in charge.

This is crazy. People from both sides have moved out of the US because they don't like the political climate.. No matter what.. its still the USA. But this idiot convinced himself that the better option was to move to Russia. I can't even understand that shite. Now your kids are about to be fatherless.

Yes but it all depends on what Trump says. Poli board has had an on/off love fest for Russia since 2014 midterms.
