I never said I only eat 1500 a day. In fact I said when did that and run I loose weight. I ate about 1500 today. Some days I eat about 2500. I average about 2000..

On, and you are right... I only weigh 260 since I just weighed.. just had my physical and she said I was 277. But obviously she was wrong. Blood pressure and everything else was great though.

Now I really have to go to bed., Kids missed the bus somehow

I guarantee you do not. That's nowhere near enough to maintain your current weight.

Majority of you people don’t know how hard it is to lose weight.

It’s called don’t go on a stupid fad diet. Use an app like my fitness pal to track your calories, and stay under your goal. Add in some exercise and speed up the process.

Another thing. Fat parents have fat kids. These habits start early in life but can be changed.

Note book, pen, two weeks, it’s not that hard.

What app did you go with? After a recent doctors visit, I'm not on the calorie watching train and a few apps were recommended but none of them are super helpful as far as finding what exactly you're eating and what the calories are.

My Fitness Pal is great and has a very thorough database. And you can always add foods that aren't in it if you have the info.

Calories matter

They're just not the only thing that matters

You should try to stay within a daily caloric limit but your food choices are important

If you eat absolute garbage and eat less calories, you will lose weight

You might feel bad but the weight will come off

This is the saddest thing of all. You see 4-7 year olds that are tubs of lard, walking around with their tub of lard parents.

Those kids never had a chance. They're on the fast track to the betus.

I don’t think it’s my business what people eat or how they exercise. But I do think it’s good to be encouraging and offer to help them with developing an exercise routine or joining a sports league.

We need to do more to educate people on the health risks of being overweight like we’ve done with Cigarettes.

And I maintain that (as a long term solution) we need to change zoning in sunbelt cities to facilitate more pedestrian centric developments instead of just endless sprawl. Perhaps invest in more public transit so that people can walk the first and last few hundred yards on their daily commutes.

No we don't. Every adult in this country knows it's not good for you.

I sometimes struggle to maintain the same weight, much less keep the pounds off when I am really busy at work (which is almost all the time now) or if it’s in the heart of winter.

When I have kids, I want them to be better than me. It should come easier to them. I want them to become an adult that not only understands how to maintain a healthy work/life balance, but also how to property take care of themselves and efficiently prepare meals in their home.

That takes a huge commitment from an extremely busy parent - especially in the Deep South or Midwest. I’m terrible at both and the older I get, the less I can get away with on a diet without feeling like shite.

That’s the issue. The adults know. We have an obesity issue with children now.

It needs to be drilled into their heads as a young child. PE has to be put back into school. Better education on daily nutritional and physical needs are imperative.

I've worked 65+ hours every week this month including weekends and I haven't missed a day in the gym nor have I eaten like shite.
