Obviously, living in south Louisiana, you may not have the need for an ice scaper. However, you already have one in your kitchen. A stiff nylon spatula will work just fine for removing ice from your windshield.

Yeah slight problem with that being I can't get into my truck now. Ice must've done something to the door lock
You got access to a hair dryer and extension cord?

Trust me.
Ice is gone from windshield now thanks to this.
Now about those doors.....

More boiling water.
It isn't the lock. Ice froze the door and seal together.

1 part rubbing alcohol, 2 parts tap water in a spray bottle. Spray on. It will melt. Do not get on car paint if possible.

A tall peppermint mocha from Starbucks. Works Everytime

Have somewhere I need to be pretty soon and definitely did not anticipate hard ice on the windshield being incredibly difficult.
What works for you?
A garage.

Call and cancel. If you are unable to get ice off a windshield you are definitely not competent to drive in it.
You leaving home would be a danger to you and those around you. Call and tell them you will contact them next spring.
Since you are going to go out anyway, wave as you slide by people and down into the ditch.

Indeed, ice is no match for the heat.
Doors are open and Ice is gone from the windshield.
Now, on with my day.
Thanks everybody and have a good day!

You should turn in your man card after what you displayed in this thread.
Also, be careful throwing hot water on a freezing windshield sweetheart. It could cause it to potentially crack.

FWIW, I always carry a couple of those plastic bags everybody hates in my truck. I put them on my side mirrors to keep them from getting iced up. Those mirrors are pretty damn important when all your other windows are iced up.

Be sure to check your yellow blinker fluid as well as it also freezes. If so, you'll need to go to your local AutoZone for more.
