Coupons and mobile apps are the only sensible way if you really want fast food.
We took coupons to Subway last wee, 3 foot longs for 17.99 and a free cookie. When we were checking out, I gave the girl the coupons which she told me, “the owner said no more coupons.” Of course she was Indian and I couldn’t understand a word she was saying.
After my complaining, she finally said frick it and gave me the coupon price. We didn’t get the cookie, which my daughter was upset, but my son was happy because she forgot to charge us for the bag of chips he got.
Apparently, the fine print on the coupon, which you can’t see, says “at participating franchises “ which the particular franchise has the option not to use coupons.

Criminal price increases? How about criminal increases in minimum wages? Morons thinking burger flipping and fryer operating are worth $15- $20/hr. States like California that are driving up the cost of transportation in attempting to regulate diesel trucks out of existence. Companies are going to pass all the costs to the consumers one way or another, consumers should be smarter about who they vote for and their policies. Won't happen though, they'll cry about the prices while still stuffing their mouths...
This. All of this. I wonder if anyone has done a correlation between companies that have had insane price increases with companies that have had insane pay increases. Or did you people really think McDonald’s was just going to eat paying their people $25/hr?
Posted on 5/30/24 at 7:04 am to td01241
Add to this the DoorDash % people are paying and it’s even more insane. It’s one thing to live for today, but that leads to a very bleak existence very soon. But maybe that’s the plan?

good maybe it will curb the american obesity epidemic

frick McDonalds and all the other shitty fast food joints with their garbage quality and high prices. It’s time for people to go back to supporting the local burger joints where you can get a badass half pound burger and fries for 10-12 bucks on a grill that hasn’t been properly cleaned in 30 years haha

And shrinkflation is legit. As I told a brother the other day, if you can't see the burger meat sticking out the edges the bun is to big. Last time I went to McDs I got my typical snack from there, a couple McDoubles and a small fry. Precovid it was about 3.50 (I know I know though I don't know the inside joke) plus tax and now its up in the 5.50 range, and the patties were barely 65% of the bun. And they were old and dried out
Precovid you could get a couple of Whoppers for 5/6 bucks, I remember the .99 price of my youth though.*tears* Now it's 2 Whopper Jrs for 5bucks, and they have shrunk significantly too. I have a buddy that worked a BK in college and he says the Jrs he got recently are about 20% smaller than when he worked there.

Predictable side effect of every fast food worker wanting $20/hour. Money has to come from somewhere and that somewhere is the consumer.

Funny. As if it's the same tradeoff. Your daughter definitely got the bad end of that stick. Did you just forget the cookie or did the girl exclude it to "accept" the coupon?

This is normal, typically the closest to your mailbox, but if she did say "owner said no more coupons" means they were participating, so can't just stop it midway like that. Especially without posting a sign. Probably an Indian owner too as that move sounds shady ASF.

Maybe the fast food companies could try improving the quality of their product

Subway around here won’t even take the damn coupons.
At least Subway hasn’t started shrinking the sandwiches like Quiznos, that did 4, 6 and 10 inch sandwiches, I believe.
Just be glad we still use imperial measurements, who wants a 6 centimeter sub for price of a 6 inch.

Inflation is controlled by the suppliers who are controlled by fast food corporations.
And this sir, is why we are doomed for financial collapse. You can win elections on slogans like ‘No new taxes!’ or ‘Build that wall!’. You can’t win elections on ‘End the Fed!’, ‘Cut entitlements!’, or ‘Implement austerity!’.
The reality is that the average voter is too stupid to understand inflation, where it comes from, or the fact that we are all basically serfs to an unelected state.

Well now maybe you fatties will reduce your fast food consumption...
Posted on 5/30/24 at 7:32 am to td01241
I don’t really give a shite which collection of variables both government legislation created, market created, greed created has led to this.
I am done eating shitty fast food.
Fast food has forgotten their entire value proposition was low cost, shitty quality, food in a hurry
All of them.
If you actually learn to cook at home you realize even the “higher quality” fast food places are truly just mediocre food loaded up with a thousand death causing ultra processed ingredients.
I challenge you. Spend a few months not going out to eat once. Learn to cook. Learn acid, salt, fat, and heat and how they work to make food taste good.
Then go through what was your favorite fast food place. You will 100% be disappointed. Then you will see you paid $25+ for that bullshite and be really disappointed.
Until fast food returns to a couple bucks for the “value menu” shite and $5-6 for a combo meal it will be a business model in conflict with itself.
PS if you don’t believe chick fil a is shite quality food. Go look at the ingredient list of their “healthy” grilled chicken.
Grilled chicken doesn’t need much more than 2-4 ingredients to taste amazing. Meanwhile they have chemistry class going on inside of that damn chicken.

Because of all of the illegals. Last few time I've been I think I was the only person that spoke English in there.
Creap food places, and places like Walmart are surviving off of the illegals. They are given a shite ton of taxpayer money and to them prices aren't bad as it's high in their countries. Why the mass deportation plan needs to be done quick as lots of our economy has been falsely boosted by letting them all in. It's like trying to narrow/restrict what can be bought by food stamps.
We are definitely living on a house of cards.

Solid well placed truth spittin rant brutha.

Sounds like CA may be backtracking on their min wage increases as apparently they are looking to delay the healthcare version they have coming up. Though it's arse backward as healthcare workers are more important that FF workers but we are talking about CA 'tards.

We just don't stuff ourselves. My wife is small and my daughter is going on 9 years old.
A footlong loaded Subway, is a big damn sandwich.

Now that you mention it, Cabbage cooked with smoked sausage and onions and some fried potatoes sounds good for tonight. probably some sliced tomatoes and cucumbers too.
Enjoy your triple whatever.

I have a 1st cousin that married the owner of my nearest Subway, Zaxby, and another FF joint all about 1.5 miles away. Only tried the Subway but the owners run a tight ship. Place is always neat, clean, tidy, and pretty good at what they do. Of course there's a reason, in the personnel hired, but not gonna say the obvious.
This is exactly right, all the girls that work at the Subway here are always friendly and the place is nice and clean. It makes a difference.

Won't happen though. People that are regular fast food eaters are generally lazy and stupid.
