This is the type of hair-splitting, pseudo "Gotcha" logic that retards use on the Rant when they're losing an argument; "Who is 'We'? Are you on the team?"

It's fine, not a big deal.

I agree I always found some NFL and UGA fans most guilty of it. I always refer to any LSU team I didn’t play for as LSU. I only call teams that I once played for as we.
Same with wearing a jersey to games. If your not going to play you don’t need a jersey.

The ad keeps popping up on TD, and it delivers.

How are fans supposed to refer to their favorite team? Should people always use they? Should people always use the full team name? I’m wondering what you find acceptable.

It’s pretty simple refer to the team by the name they are commonly called. If I get off the field and bump into a fan and he tells me “we” kicked their arse I don’t care for it. It’s hard to explain to people who didn’t play sports on a certain level, but it many circles the use of the word “we” is earned and not appropriated.

If they define the team as the players and fans, then they are correct is using the term "We". For some folks, it takes more than just the guys on the field to make a team.

Saban preaches about this at least once a year.
