A fan was denied entry into Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday night when he attempted to get in with an emotional support alligator, according to multiple reports.
The fan, identified by the Philadelphia Inquirer as Joie Henney, has the alligator — named Wally — to help him in his battle with depression.
According to the Phillies’ official website: “Guide dogs, service animals, or service animals in training are welcome. All other animals are prohibited.”

“When he turns his nose toward you, that means he expects a kiss,” Henney told the Washington Post last summer. “He’s super sweet-natured.”

I wonder if the gator eats crayons too?

Judging by the shirt he just wanted the attention. He's probably glad he got denied entry and that a story about it was written.

He doesn’t want a kiss. He wants to eat your face, dummy

Yep. And I've seen stories about this gator before.

Henney once told the Inquirer that Wally, who boasts over 109,000 TikTok followers, likes to give hugs and is friendly.
He knew the gator would probably be denied but wanted to gain more followers so he could make some money off it.
Good job New York post and OP for encouraging this kinda behavior

I have yet to meet one person with an "emotional support" animal that wasn't a complete attention seeking loon. Any of you have a different experience?

Are you allowed to own alligators in Philadelphia?

I feel sad for the gator. He belongs in the swamp, not with this idiot.

Emotional support animals seem like teddy bears. Something I'd expect from a 6 year old girl. What kind of full grown adult male needs a living teddy bear to leave the house?

The discrimination these days is really out of control. People are so cruel.

This gator will eventually eat him. There will be a story come out one day of police entering a home to find an alligator and no sign of the owner of the house. The alligator will be euthanized and autopsied. The remains of the man will be found in the gators digestive system and in the feces scattered throughout the house…. And that will be the end of the story of the Phillies fan and his emotional support gator.
