How the frick are you affected by the "system"? Are you a criminal?

Not one of these recent dumbass's that have been "killed" by cops will ever have any effect on my life in any way.

I would think jails deal with addicts constantly. I'm surprised they didn't treat this properly.

Or maybe this is how it's always treated and I'm surprised more addicts don't die.

Drug addict who died in jail.

Not saying that makes it better, I just had no idea what happened from the OP

Well I couldn't copy the whole article in the OP. Basically they let this guy writhe in agony for days and finally die from acute withdraw from his medication. If you'll read in the story, he was getting help before going to jail.....

quote:

Stojcevski, the son of immigrant bakers, grew up in a modest Detroit suburb and was addicted to drugs at a young age. According to his family’s lawsuit, a doctor prescribed Stojcevski Methadone, Xanax and Klonopin to help him beat his addiction — but without them, his body would go into withdrawl, WDIV reported.

At the jail a nurse evaluated him and recommended Stojcevski go to a medical drug detox unit — he went to a jail cell instead, the station reported.

The guy should have been in detox, not a jail cell. Yeah he was just a junkie. but he didn't deserve to be left to die like this. The one's who were responsible for his welfare while in jail should be arrested and charged with Negligent homicide.

So he deserved the slow painful death he got?

Deserved? Probably not. But like I said, the world is a better place without him. A lifetime burden to society, his like only serve to bring the rest of us down.

And a drug addict dying from withdrawal? Hard to sympathize.

I'm not sure if you're really a cop, but if you are, I hope that your outlook is not indicative of other pigs.

why are those things messed up?

he had a ticket he didn't pay it and a bench warrant was issued, was picked up and couldn't pay it so the judge sentenced him to 30 days( probably because of his apparent drug abuse history) generally in those cases if he served his 30 days the judge will throw out the fine.

no what happened in the jail is what is messed up

All this could have been avoided by him simply paying the ticket

what is messed up about this guy getting a traffic ticket?

what is messed up about this guy (who spends money on drugs) going to jail for refusing to pay a traffic ticket for almost 3 years?

I'm a cop and yes neither the fine or jail sentence is what is messed up.

I'm not sure if you're a SJW , I just hope your outlook isn't as narrow minded as the all the ignorant assholes out there.

This may come as a shock to you, but there are some people in this world who are poor. And yes, one reason this guy was poor was due to his own bad decisions. But that does not warrant being allowed to die in this manner. Are we or are we not a civilized society? This is not the USSR or North Korea where prisoners are thrown in gulags to rot and die.

i'm not bothered by it and don't care.

Would you say the same thing if he went through alcohol withdrawal instead of drug withdrawal?
